    I just opened up my savage xl gearbox and the gears are greesed.Rather than dismantling the whole 3 speed could i give it a good spray with brake cleaner?

      I think its because the 2nd gear has some sort of slipper and if grease gets on it it will mess up the gearchange and if any grit gets in the gearbox it will stick to the gears and grind them down

      So Nitroholic can I get the grease off and out of the 3 speed without stripping all the gears down?

      Nope. Only way to get the grease out is to strip the gearbox...and that means taking one chassis side off
