ARC R8.1e on road 1:8 kit

    ARC-R8.1E-electric-on-road-kit.jpg

ARC have introduced the new R8.1E 1/8th scale electric on-road car kit. The R8.1E is based on the successful R8.0E platform with some new features such as a new front bulkhead with an adjustable belt tension so the driver can adjust both the front and middle belt tension easily. The rear bulkhead adopts an all-new design similar to the R8.1 nitro version and the new anti-roll bar gives more rear end traction and stability. The adjustable rear axle remains se same and it is easy to adjust the rear beld tension.

The R8.1E features also a new rear suspension block. By moving both rear arms and shock tower to the center prosition., it increases the traction and stability of the car. The transmission remains a 3-belt design and perfectly positions through the centre of the chassis, it helps to centralise both the battery and motor location. The R8.1E also comes with CVD drive shafts and light aluminium wheel axles on both front and rear sides for optimised performance. ARC recommend to use a 2800kv motor and two 2S LiPo batteries.

Serious bit of on road race kit,

i`m not keen on belt drive though.

Watching this vid of them in action,i am now thinking they NEED to be 6 cell (2x3) the power was running well down after 5 minutes and at 7 minutes was almost cruising,so a good 7-8 minute heat would really need a 6 pack :)

3 or 4 pit stops for 30 minute race.

investment in 1/8 racing is expensive but rather good. ok maybe boring as an observer but driving is where it`s at.

Probably an illusion with being electric, thus quieter, but they seem slower than the full-on nitro 1/8 on-roads.
