Looks awesome until seeing the motor. Couldn't they have done better rather than more of that junk. How about the first micro brushless crawler/scaler. Could that even work using transfer case etc like full size.

No whining gear noises that sound like it's much bigger than it is. Is it a geared motor too? Ide rather not have that stuff.

Yep 220 hard earned bucks is bit eye watering for a 1/24th rig to crawl over your desk 🤣🤣

Especially with the release of the 1/24th Deadbolt, which just looks awesome.

I hadn't seen the 1/24 Deadbolt before now.

You're absolutely right, it looks great and is half the price of this! No brainer.

I don't think there is such a huge market for the small stuff, as Rich once said, they usually get used a handful of times over the TV remote then seem to disappear to a cupboard or shelf, must admit if I knew anyone else with one, I'd buy one, but as I don't, the SCX10 just makes much more sense, since I have such good crawling grounds so locally, it's a shame there isn't more of a following for the little beasts :D

    That is very true.

I don't think you'll find areas outside where these will be better suited than an SCX10/Ascender/Komodo etc. and building and running on home-made, indoor "courses" isn't very satisfying.

I could see them being fun, if you did a DJ Medic and built an actual small-scale countryside, using paper mache and Hornby railway trees, bushes etc. It was like a real miniature crawling course, built on a miniature mountain range. That was cool.

He did an okay job of it, considering his resources, space, time and income... It wouldn't be hard to build something a lot better if you had what he has.

But yes, it would be pretty good if they took off more, but sadly they'll always be a bit of a gimmick I think, perhaps gimmick isn't the right word though.

Yes, that sounds more appropriate, my brain isn't engaging fully, been up since 4.30 and working today, day off tomorrow!

Treated myself to a UMG10 today, so definitely think the SCX24 is off the radar for me right now.

I have this little rascal it is made very well and yes it is completely metal. It's not a novelty. You do need a body but the fact you can use almost any 1/24 Metal or plastic body is cool with all the choices by maisto, Jada, ect. Price was steep yes but the quality is there and the tiny motor has its strength I was actually impressed can't do to much outside opsticle, when big rocks are all to crawl but it gets it done with a skilled driver behind the wheel. My son has a scx24 custom I built for him and you really can't beat the axial line of crawlers they are made so well with numerous upgrades. Picture are off the scx24 with 3D printed parts this upgrade added weight and overall better look and ability love the change I made about a $350 upgrade with the aluminum parts upgrade also. But this little truck is cool for a stock look 1/24 scale cool custom build with metal body. I think the price would make the rolling chassis more appealing at $160 but other then the $220 price tag I'm not disappointed.
