First thing mate, send the technics fuel back. Some of their top end stuff is okay (people say)
but not the standard 16%. I got 2 half cans of it but won't use it anymore.
Not sure on the exact rules but distance selling regs state you have
7 or 10 days to return and the supplier might, might!, have to pay return costs.
Anyway, that's for you to decide but just read some people's opinions on here!
Right, first thing, carb lifting not good at all. It's a good idea to seal engines (don't worry about
it yet but might be useful to read the sticky edit: in guides and tutorials) but if the carb is lifting you're letting
in air, running lean, but generally screwing up the setup. When is it doing it, at full throttle or full
brake? Either way, adjust the linkage so that stops!! Then lift the carb, apply some gasket sealant,
re-seat and tighten the nut at the back so it's locked in place.
Oh and compression is basically when the piston is trying to compress the air/fuel between it and
the head. You get a certain amount of leakage anyway but the less hard it is to turn the engine
over by hand, the more air is leaking down the sides of the piston. So when combustion takes
place, some of the force escapes round the piston rather than pushing it down. An engine with
good compression with hold itself level if turn the flywheel until maximum resistance then hold it
on it's side, if you see what I mean?
Hope that helps. PM me if you like or continue with this thread and a few other people might be
kind enough to help.
