engine starts, idles then cuts out but only sometimes

Hi there,

I have a hong nor x1 crt with the force .32 engine.

Over the weekend I was having lots of engine issues. I only have the car a few months and this was only about the third time out so I'm learning all the time.

The engine is still running rich and I haven't leaned it out yet though I was thinking of doing this in the next week or two.

My problem is intermittent. Over the weekend when I was attempting to start the car it would start and idle and then cut out after a few seconds or so. Usually after the third time it would keep running and I could go bashing.

Then I might stop it to refuel and it could start and go no bother and then after another stop and refuel it could go back to start, idle cut out again for no apparent reason.

Twice over the weekend I had an issue where it would start, idle cut out indefinitely. I would leave it for an hour, come back and it would start fine then!

Any ideas what's going on here or is this just nitro for ya?

Cheers.

Your problems are due to the fact ur engine is Running rich

it fires - cant cope - then stalls

Too much fuel in there

As well as a tooo low of an idle

You need to watch the video's in "how to tune a nitro" Sticky thread at the top of General - Nitro section

And watch how easy it become :)

but if you can't be bothered to keep changing the fuel setting every day like me.

then tune your engine so it's making reasonable power but not tuned to the full. that way any small changed in the atmosphere temp etc won't take the engine over the edge.

I agree.."Reasonable power" is the thing. :good::thumbsup:

If it is tuned up to the highest point it has little give in what it requires back regards.

Air temp

Engine temp

Fuel, too rich\too lean

Idle screw.

So many thing that can be tinkered with every time one takes a car out.

I go for the lazy method.... ;)

Good luck
