stephenmx50
Hi All, I want to re oil my diffs on my hyper 7, i have a couple of quick questions that im hoping someone can help 1. when i get the diff out of the outer plastic case is a simple case of removing the screws and filling with oil? 2.Do they use a gasket and do you need to replace this when changing oil? 3. Do you need any special tools? 4. And the most important question... What oil weights shall i run, i mainly use my car for Race/track use on a astro turf track. Any info on diffs and oil would be great!
smithy1135
On the hyper 7 its just a case of taking out the 4 screws, pulling off the crown gear and you will need to remove the grease thats in them already. As far as i remember i dont think the hyper 7's use gaskets, they use a rubber seal. No special tools needed. A good starting point for diff oils is 5000-7000-3000 but im sure if you ask some other racers at the track they will advise you whats best. stephenmx50
Thanks for the advise, do you fill them right to the brim?
smithy1135
I fill mine up until it covers the 4 small cogs, make sure you turn the drive cup once youve filled it though, as you often need to put a little more oil in.
