andy_n
just a quick question reallyy how warm should my mamba be getting it gets really hot when being used indoors with the shell on just the esc really could it be to do with gearing ? im currently running ( on my b4 ) 19t spur and a 87 pinion or whatever is the largest you can get ? does this gearing sound about right
Matt B
Does the shell have holes in it to let air to the ESC?
deano kid
Does the shell have holes in it to let air to the ESC? is esc the same thing as on a pc ?? esc=escape lemme no
bb2120
esc = electronic speed controller In your case it's the little box with the green fins on it. I'd try a 17t pinion for that motor. Get a temperature gun and check that it's less than 90 degrees Celsius after a hard run.
RobG
Gearing sounds too high. Doubt you are reaching top speed indoors! I beleive you need to be hitting top speed about 3/4 way down the straight for best gearing. The fact the ESC is getting hot usually means it is working hard to limit the throttle. If you are at top speed more often the ESC will actualy get less hot. It is not good gearing if you are not using the full speed range. Try a 17T pinion. andy_n
i dont think ill ever reach top speed indoors as the longest straight is about 7 metres if that so what pinion is it a 48dp
Matt B
Yes it will be, as my T4 was.
