    Careless people

If I saw someone vandalising any car -- not just my own -- I would confront them, call the police if necessary, chase them if necessary and injure them if necessary. I hope others on this forum would do something if they saw this going on. On a lighter note... another reason not to take my car to uni at Manchester.
  3. In an ideal world you'd charge each cell individually. Unless the pack is well matched some cells will be overcharged while others aren't fully charged. Adding a second pack to the mix just makes this more of a problem. Unless they're poor quality packs that you don't mind replacing soon, I'd at least ensure that both packs voltages are equal before charging.

    MacBooks

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) on my Dell notebook at the moment, alongside Vista and Backtrack. I actually spent a couple of hours sorting it out last night and got wireless and video acceleration working beautifully. The desktop effects included with 8.10 are really nice and so much smoother than Vista's. Except for iTunes and Adobe CS4, I can't think of a good excuse for using Vista as much as I do. I completely understand the appeal of macs, but keep an open mind and try out some linux distros before you shell out on mediocre Apple hardware
  5. Soft case lipos are surprisingly tough, but obviously are more prone to being pierced. I wouldn't worry about using one if the battery tray offers good protection
  6. Spektrum SR3000 receiver with antenna cut to length recommended by Spektrum. Minor cosmetic markings to front label, works perfectly. SOLD Futaba R136F 35Mhz FM receiver. VGC with std antenna. Not for surface use.
  7. I'm after four servos between roughly 8g and 12g each (such as Hitec HS55) for a foam plane I'm building. I'm willing to pay more for decent servos... please send me a PM if you think you've got what I'm after. HS56s would be ideal.
  8. Active ingredient? PTFE??
  9. I've enjoyed reading these replies Just downloaded WhiteCap and am very impressed! I may try and borrow laptop with a decent graphics card for the night... 20-30fps looks good, but it would nice if it was buttery smooth
  10. A very random topic... just wondering if you guys have any ideas I'm holding a a bit of a rave this Saturday and want to make use of the 200" screen and projector at my Dad's house (which is a Chapel, incidentally). I could just run iTunes/WMP visualiser based on music on my laptop, but it won't vary with the tunes being played by the DJ, and both are a bit boring frankly. And yeah I know 200" is 5m... it's a big mother of a screen, and then there's the projector! Is there any software that'll produce decent visualisations from a mic input? Any other ideas for what to put on the screen while the DJ is on?
