  1. No Hyper Mini hopups available sadly, guess its tough enough as is, what you after for the Rascal?
  2. This is turning into a beast, i'm very impressed. As I said earlier, my Big Joe's are waiting for me at the lhs, looking forward to getting them on but looking at yours i've realised theres quite a few more parts i'm gonna need to get it finished.
  3. Good service and havnt had any import charges yet although my orders have not been huge.
  4. Have a look at the HPI 2.2 truck rims, theres a huge selection and they normally come with adapters that fit the Tamiya rears. Superstars are a nice looking spoked rim if you can find a set.
  5. Rascal is abit smaller than the Hyper 12 ST although this pic doesn't show it too well, imagine no rear wing and smaller wheels and you'll get the idea...... It all depends on what you are looking for, the Rascal is a cracking little speed machine, great fun to mess around with but being 2WD it does have its limitations. Theres the CRT.5 which is pretty much the same as the Hyper 12 ST, I have both and as good as they both are I think the CRT.5 has a slight edge over the Hyper 12 ST. This little KYOSHO has tempted me for a while, from what I have read it does seem to get positive reviews and it really is small. The Cen MG16 might be worth looking at, 4WD mini monster truck, good build quality and fun to drive, parts are not the easiest to get hold of immediately over here but from my experience any good shop should be able to order them fairly fast. The one thing that I really don't like about the MG16 is the toyish look of the shell but thats easily changed.
  6. Yeah, theres been a few around. Had one sat in the cupboard for a year or so, maybe i'll get it fitted one day
  7. Sounds about right, maybe start at 4 or 6mm. Grub screws, e clips, washers and nuts are also usually in a full kit.
  8. If you browse THIS you can see how I did my exhaust. Part numbers are listed on the third page. I'm still looking into a side mounted exhaust but am not keen on having to loose bits of the bodyshell, I need as much protection as possible as i'm mainly running on the beach.
  9. Looking good, two speed is around
  10. Don't know about tracks but for bashing have a look at THIS. Regular meets and from what i've seen good turn out. Not been myself but i'll get to one oneday.
  11. As above, Polycarbonate paint will flex with the body, if you have a lexan shell thats the paint you are going to need. Acrylic paint will be better suited for ABS bodies. Decals can be found all over the place, Modelsport, Ebay, Internet, its also worth sticking a wanted ad up here in the for sale section. You can spray your wheels, auto paint, plasticote etc will work but it will chip off. If you want to go for a strong permanent colour dying is the way to go. 1 box of Rit dye (colour of your choice), into pan of hot water, add rims and simmer for a while.
  12. The fitting is the same size, some of the shafts can be slightly larger in diameter though. Usually it is a case of them all fitting but I did have a cooling head on one of my engines that I had to find a narrower shafted starter for as the "standard" would not fit the hole.
  13. Looks like a great buy. Got a similar deal from here a while back, one RTR 12 ST and a box of spares that built a brand new car which has been sat on the shelf since. As already said, these are tough little trucks, the lack of hopups is a bit dissapointing but being honest the only thing that might be of benefit would be a 2 speed, all stock parts are very well made and extrememly strong. How are you liking yours compared to the CRT.5 R46?
  14. Remember even if the sand appears dry there may be and most likely at this time of year is moisture in it. The sand does get everywhere which will carry any contained moisture with it. Waterproofing an RX is easy enough, pop it in a balloon and seal, job done.
