Plastic spur gear shreaded

The traxxas spur gears are pretty hardy in my experiance! get a new 86t or 90t whichever you were running, you can use the paper method ie - sticking a bit of paper betweent the pinion and spur themn tightening it up and sliding the paper out or traxxas do a fixed gear adaptor set that doesnt let the motor move

I guess it depends how long it lasted and whether you're running extra power...

When you mesh it next time stick a piece of paper in-between it and feed it in using the gears. It shouldn't cut it, but should leave an indentation. Also rock it back and forth, there should be 1-2mm of play which you'll be able to see.

You are much better off leaving the spur plastic and setting the mesh correctly and making sure the motor doesn't move and stripping a few of those than putting in a steel spur and then messing that up and much higher cost and maybe more damage. :good:
