AndyBell
Hi, I needed to strip the rear diff on my Outcast but one of the small 2mm allen bolts that hold the driveshaft to the diff has rounded off. Wondered if anyone might have any idea on how to get it off as you have to put a small 2mm allen key down the middle of the driveshaft to get to it. Any ideas or solutions and I would be eternally grateful! Also, from the exploded view it only shows the front diff and the parts, I presume the from and rear diff internals are the same? Thanks, Andy.
Tug
I'm sure they'll be the same front to rear. You're in an awkward spot, you might need to drill it. Definitely 2mm?
AndyBell
Yeah, the other side came off fine with a 2mm allen key Edited July 19, 2020 by AndyBell
Stevenj76
First time they’re removed they are a nightmare , always best to get the solder iron in from an angle and get them warm first. I would remove the driveshaft from the knuckle and use a torx bit . You might have to tap it in first
AndyBell
Managed to get it out, just need to replace the screw now though, just hope the knuckle isn’t too damaged. All part of the hobby though! Just need the diff case and the input gear, no one seems to have stock until mid August though.
