Cheap wheels and tyres for Traxxas rustler

Recommended Posts

Hi, got a rwd rustler off ebay today, it has radial type front tyres and lightly treaded rears. Had quick blast tonight and think better tyres are needed with more tread. I put the wheels off my carnage on it and they are a good fit and are 25 quid for 4 on Ebay. Any other suggestions as sources of cheap wheels? 105mm ish radius and 12mm hubs. Or is that as cheap as they go?

Thanks!

That is as cheap as they go TBH. They may not have the right offset for the Rustler though.

Depends what surface you're running on. Those original tyres probably work well in California but are **** all use here in NE Scotland where we generally run on wet grass, wet mud, wet gravel or snow.

I sourced Proline Trenchers for my Rustler. Work well on most surfaces we run on. They're expensive as wheels/tyres  but I picked up 4 tyres only which I then glued on to the original wheels and it worked out at £20 all in.

The ProLine Badlands are great for grass/mud and AsiaTees do them for £20 a pair (inc wheels) which is really cheap although there is postage. Worth it if you're ordering a bunch of stuff from them - like RPM bits. They come with adjustable offset for the Rustler and you could just have a pair on the back for maximum traction. On 3S the front tyres don't do much because they're rarely on the ground!
