Losi Desert Buggy XL-E

You know what I haven't been on here much for a few months. Then I log in and yet again and there's something I will buy for a daft price even though I don't need it. Bloody LOSI and my 1/5 obsession,.

Far too small.....A dremmel will be used to maximise pack length.....

Having a black version, grey just is too much like the Northern skies....

Yep I hear ya but look at the pic there's not much in the way of spare room ?

No sorry not got width but not sure that will be as much of an issue as the length. I was looking at the Turnigy graphene 6000mah 4s but won't look like they will fit at 160mm and yes the don't look much room to make any mods!

The battery size isn't a great problem just means instead of cheaping out on lipos your have to spend a little more is all. Which in all honesty isn't really a bad thing. I don't have a petrol 1/5th scale nowhere to run one where I live which is why this appeals so much.

If i had a petrol dbxl then I doubt I'd be getting one of these to be honest so I can see why you'd be in 2 minds

That was part of the problem for me with one of these, the urge to just keep the trigger squeezed in and then slowly come to a halt, much before you're ready to end the day.

The temptation is still there, I'll wait to hear some real world reviews though with regards to what run times people get and how quick they are.

There's so much potential space there to add in bigger trays. On the conversion, trays are a nightmare due to the drive line placement and huge spur gear. If I didn't already have a conversion of the DBXL, I'd seriously contemplate this.

Is there any definite release date yet?

Amainhobbies are stating the 15th of May so I'd guess it will hit the uk around the same time in June ?

Have to see if I can drop in the spare Leopard LBP58110 520kv motor to improve runtimes.
