Steering Servo Issues

Hey, newbie here so please forgive any stupidity. 

 

Son has an HPI Firestorm E and the steering servo seems to have given up the ghost. Turns fine one way but the other it just kind of jerks and returns to the starting place. 

 

Is this the end of the servo or is there a way to repair - any advice welcome.

standard leccy bits in most RTR's aren't up to much, a nice metal geared savox will last you for years. Could take the standard one out and test I off the car. Also check there are no stones blocking its path.

Are well liked cheaper options to savox, some hobbyking servos sound good too.

Thanks guys, I think it's a gonner! Took it all apart, cleaned it etc and still nothing. Even when not connected to the wheels it still struggles - guess it's time to upgrade.
