MTA4 S50 Shock disassembly, how?

Mr Rixter

Recommended Posts

Hello, I want to change the oil of the shocks but I'm stuck, I can't seem to be able to completely dissemble the shock. I have removed the bottom part of the shock but the top cap is still screwed somehow so I can't completely remove the rod and change the oil. I don't want to break it so has anybody done this before? Cheers

You want to go in from the top. They can be a little difficult to unscrew the shock cap. The trick is having a good grip on the shock body, having removed the spring... Then using iers or spanner to unscrew the cap

When I did my ally caps my plastics ones were on so tight I couldn't believe it....makes u wonder how they can pop off in a heavy landing being that tight..lol..I used pliers (wrapped in a rag) gently and eventually they came off. .
