You really shouldn't be having problems with the spurs, and in any case a metal one wouldn't help as the internal gears are all plastic. If you are having issues its either with the slipper clutch or your pinion/mesh. Are you stripping teeth (pinion/mesh) or melting the centre of the spur (slipper) ?

Check the meshing when u fit new one. I check mine at every use mate. O I got my spur gear wrong its 87t not 81t pinion is 23t i have x4 desc 210 one is blinged to full race spec alloy everything that I could its always better to leave the slipper a bit lose saves teeth on spur gear
