Gashead
R4 or OS8 are medium all year round plugs. Will suffice for our climate anyway

J.K
Generally a warmer plug in the winter, cooler in the summer. You'll need to re-tune when changing to a different plug
allbluedave
Sorry for hijacking guys but has anybody had issues with a leaking glow plug? I don't mean leaking due to the plug been slack/worn washer ect ect but the plug actually leaking fuel/compression out of the small pip on the top and blowing bubbles lol. Noticed this last time I ran my car. No doubt this wont do starting/ running no good will it lol.

I have never had a plug like that....just a fault with the manufacture....replace with another and all should be good. What plug is it? Anthoop
Stupid qestion my savage has a no 6 plug do I have to retune if I put an os8 in ?? Probably...and you would probably have to retune due to the changing weather conditions that are happening in the UK....time for thermals (that is me, not the engine). Having said that I do not know what plug you are currently using and invariably the OS8 will work if the tune worked with what was there before...but a tune that works and a tune that is correct (with limitations) are different. allbluedave
Not sure anthoop. Its covered in surface rust and tbh ain't inspected it as such. Just replaced it. Just curious if it was a common thing? Was in with spares I bought a while ago.

I would expect that to be too hot for a .21 (?) engine in normal temperatures...might work well now it is getting colder...when it is up and running give them both a try. Not sure anthoop. Anthoop
Could be anything then...OS is marked on the OS plugs I have used. You can often see if a plug will be hotter/colder by just looking at the coil of wire.
