Hyper 7 general maintenance

Hi there,

Recently got a hyper 7 tq2 .28 and was just after general maintenance advice, what does everyone do?

Is it just a case of cleaning it and checking for loose parts after each run, how often do i need to put after run in the engine? only just found this stuff and assume the hpi after run is ok from modelsport?

Any help appreciated as I'm new to nitro![emoji1]

thanks

like you`ve said just check it over for any loose parts and after say 4 or 5 runs strip it down to check the wheel bearings arent locked up and moving freely and other stuff is either ttight like it should be or loose like it should be i.e arms arent gummed up and move freely up and down and use after run oil after evry use but iam sure some people may say different oh and empty the fuel tank after every use you don`t want dirty or stale fuel in your carb

No need to use after run oil...after each run... :)

I use oil at the end of a days running, I also run the engine and fuel system completely dry of fuel...add oil then bung the intake and exhaust.

I never know if I will run the engine again tomorrow or in months so it is my little routine to protect the engine and ensure easy starting when that next time comes.

You may not need to add oil if you know you will be running again soon but remember that the oil can do no harm, whereas fuel left in an engine can cause damage (rust) and block carbs.

Oh and always be very careful when removing glow plugs/air filters to add oil...you really do not want to get dirt in there...clean/brush/blow the surrounding area first.
