Brushless motor keeps cutting out?

Recommended Posts

I have just bought a SC10 with a Ezrun brushless motor setup capable of running 2s and 3s lipo.

My problem is that the motor keeps cutting out and seems to get very hot. If I switch the car off and on it's fine again for 20 seconds then cuts out. The ESC and battery keeps cool, I'm running it on 3s lipo

what ever you are doing you are over stressing the motor/esc.

could you post more info about the car you are using and the gearing you are using;

Make & Model of RC

Approximate weight of car with lipo installed

Spur tooth count

Pinion tooth count

Lipo mAH and C rating

Make and Model of motor

KV of motor used

Do you know what the settings are set at on the ESC (punch/timing advance etc)?

all the above info will help us help you with more accurate options to make sure your car is setup correctly :good:

Sounds like the thermal shut down is kicking in as it is getting to hot. My EZrun 8.5t 60A combo does the same and i can only run the 2s lipo on it.

Trying gearing it down with a smaller pinion or running it on 2s and see how it goes.

I'm used to petrol models so forgive me for being thick

Team Associated SC10 1/10 2wd

87t spur was on 84t when I got

21t pinion

3s 11.1v lipo 5500 mah, 35c

Motor setup is Hobbywing Ezrun series version 2?  9t 4300kv

Settings unknown but came with program card, previous owner set this up and seemed fine.

I'm using 2.4ghz 3 channel Fyksky

Thanks
