simple trouboleshooting please help

I had this problem a day or two ago where the car's servos would simply lose power and wouldn't move.

I took the batteries out and replaced them and it worked again.

Unfortunately however it happened again today and I tried the same process of re-installing the full power batteries and to no avail. It seems like the receiver may not be the problem as it's not making a normal humming tone; this suggests to me that it has no power :/

Is this a common fault? and is there an easy repair?

Hump packs are actually slightly smaller than the standard 4 AA battery holder but also offer improvements in terms of reliability and servo power.

That or the receivers faulty I had one that did that
