How high are the rc population allowed to fly legally ?

I'm probably in trouble here

Lost my quad recently but I know the vague area it landed in but it was night time

We saw it land but as it was dark it couldn't be located

Anyway

I wanted to see just how high and how far the fatsharks would go

I thought the turnigy 9xr would have out run the goggles

The fatsharks won

I kept the throttle on till I thought it was high enough but it kept going

It was running naza bit the RTH failsafe failed so all I could do was watch and wait

20 min later it descended about a mile and half away in some local fields

As mentioned we saw the rough area it came down but can't quite locate bit it's been out in the rain since soo as far as I'm concerned the electrics are not trust worthy so it's scrap

Soo what is the legal ceiling for rc aircraft ?

Yeah 400ft but unsure how anyone could measure if you was a little higher ;)

Also depends on how close to an airport you are ;)

The ceiling is 400ft. The chances of it being detected by radar, none. Radar is designed to pick up large aircraft made of metal. Your phantom is like a paper bag to it. As long as it doesn't hit anything I wouldn't worry to much.

I lost the rig with a 808 cam recording dam ........

Had a pet tracking device on mine since lost my first one :)

Pulled it off when sold the phantom and have it in my toolbox for the next phantom :)

Still have your fatshark goggles? Interested in selling em? :)
