  1. I am having difficulty installing the roto start backplate into my Hobao Hyper 30 VS. The backplate itself installs fine, but when I reinstall the manifold and exhaust pipe, the tip of the roto start where the hex driver installs interferes with the exhaust manifold. It means that the manifold does not sit flush against the exhaust outlet of the Hyper 30 engine, which means there likely won't be a decent seal. Also, the manifold is pushed against the tip of the roto start where the hex driver is installed so when it spins it would rub hard against the manifold. You can see this issue in the photos. I haven't reinstalled the spring that holds the manifold in place because I do not intend to use it like this. I have tried twisting the manifold in various positions, but it does not alleviate the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what did you do about it? I have looked and have not been able to find any mention of this issue anywhere. I'm wondering whether my manifold isn't quite right, or whether everyone else just makes do with that setup. I've looked at Youtube videos with the roto start backplate for Hobao Hypers, but they are all about the Hyper 7 or the Hyper VS with the Macstar 28 engine. For the latter the manifold is installed correctly and it just clears the roto start. It looks to be the same exhaust manifold which leads me to think maybe my manifold isn't quite right. I notice that with the Hyper 7 it uses a different manifold and exhaust. I have the Hyper SS 30 Truggy which uses the exact same exhaust and the roto start backplate works just fine on that. I have tested that exhaust and manifold on my Hyper VS and it also fits fine with the roto start backplate. Short of buying a whole new exhaust, is there a better solution?
  2. Hey guys ive just bought the hyper ss truggy with macstar.28 turbo engine heard alot of bad things about this engine isit really thst bad as people say have i wasted my.money in this what is your overall view in this truggy what is better for the same money ? Cheers
  3. Hello all, I’m fairly new to nitro but have owned one before and it’s been a blast! I recently received a Hyper VS with the new 30 turbo engine and it’s given me nothing but headache. Breaking in was difficult, it was running very very rich but getting very hot quick! As soon as the temps began rising (above 200F) I shut it down, let it cool bdc and began again. Smoke billowing out the exhaust and drinking fuel like it was going out of fashion. Finally managed to get 5 tanks through it and varying the throttle as the tanks got on but had to lean it up a little to even get it to move. Tank 10 today and I got it moving decently, temps around 200F but the exhaust was boiling hot! Just having a little fun when it stopped. Conrod hasn’t snapped or bent but the bushing has completely come out and mangled the conrod! The silicone exhaust gaskets have both completely melted as well! Backstory, When cold, the engine would be so rich that it would barely move, eventually it seemed to clear and the smoke that was billowing out reduced quite a lot. It was like it leaned itself out while running but smoke was always visible from the exhaust and temps taken at the glow plug were again around 200F. Both the LSN and HSN are rich (pinch test the idle rises significantly before cutting out 5 seconds or so later) and the HSN was still rich enough to prevent reaching a good speed. I’ve babied this engine! So, new conrod time! Don’t suppose anyone has any advice do they? Why it might be leaning itself out? Or what else could have caused the exhaust gasket to melt and the conrod to shred itself? (I carried the car back to the garage by the engine after it stopped just to prove it wasn’t too hot). Thanks in advance all!
  4. I've been looking to buy an electric hyper cage or one of the other brands of the same car.. It's proving difficult to find one already used. Being pretty poor I can't afford the kit and then buy tx rx and lipos etc. £200 ideal budget but could go higher for the right deal

  6. Hey, Just wondering what glow plugs people use? I have a Hyper 7 with a .21 3 port race engine and want to know some recommended glow plugs. Thanks a lot
  7. Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my steering servo on my Hyper7 Black to a metal geared one and I was wondering whether people run a Hi-speed or a Hi-torque servo for their steering? Does it make much difference getting one over the other? I run my hyper on a dirt BMX track and was expecting to change the stock servo sometime soon anyway but a few rough landings speeded up the need for a replacement as its currently missing a few teeth although it is now running on the other half of the gear... Thanks for the help :
