  1. Difficult to see on some chargers but be careful to get the polarity not just of the main cables, but of the 'little white plug' balance cables right. Al.
  2. Tyres don't half make a difference. It looks great. With the tyres, it looks an absolute BEAST! Al.
  3. Used to be good when they were £30, then I was still asking the same question. Typically £120 - 150 - WAY too much. Al.
  4. Might be of interest for 1/8 MT conversions or lightweight 1/6 buggies: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-trackstar-1-5th-scale-sensorless-200amp-8s-opto-car-esc.html?utm_campaign=edm090218mix&utm_content=91892882&utm_medium=email&utm_source=EDM&___store=en_us# Al.
  5. Hope the driver's wearing wellies!! With no firewall, and with the engine bat wide open to the cabin, he's going to get soaked every time he enters 'a deep spot'! Looks good. Al.
  6. Back to the opening post, between FG and KM, I much prefer FG ... BUT ... If it's 4 of you looking to have a bash around, then you'll probably have more fun, less spills (roll overs) with the more stable KM - longer and lower. That SCT option looks good as well. Al.
  7. Thanks for the update, and very sorry. Absolute PIA from this low life!! Hope you get something resolved pretty soon mate. Al.
  8. Don't forget a 'hot' plug means it will run hotter, 'cold' will run colder. Al.
  9. The price is .... OUCH!! Totally agreed that the quality and detailing are superb. I suppose if you start comparing it to RC4WD renditions, it's a relative bargain, but that's another thing. Al.
  10. Looks like the Losi has a V4 and it has the full fat V8 - bonnet size!! Looks a really nice job. Al.
  11. Which glow plug? Add which fuel also. What do you have? What motor is in it? Is it a standard or turbo head in it - different types of plug. How old is it? What fuel do you have in it? Simply, set the carb to the manufacturer's stock settings - which are normally slightly rich to ensure good lubrication and limit possible overheating - particularly if the motor's new. When you are setting the needles, they relate to the hands of a clock. You CAREFULLY (NEVER, NEVER force it) screw clockwise until just firmly closed, then count turns out from closed. Typically, many have the screw head flush with the mounting it's in as close to setting, particularly the high range needle. Check your manual first.
  12. Another 3 months and 3x the price and you could have bought the NEW Traxxas SCT .... bargain indeed!! Al.
  13. That looks a fantastic effort - really nice truck. Nearly the size of the X-Maxx as well at 694 mm long. Are there any side-by-side photos? This alongside the 'X'? Al.
  14. Replacement for the broken radio box on the FG MT. This time I've a transparent cover on it. Looks good but plastic isn't quite as 'durable' as ideal for a basher R/C - I'll see how I get on over the next couple of weeks. 115 x 90 x 55 mm. (Over 2x size of stock - necessary.) Al.
  15. If it bounces up very quickly - shows that the springs appear adequate. Are you certain that all 4 shocks actually have oil in them? If yes, having a quick 'Google', it confirms what I thought, 30 weight oil is stock. I would check the pistons are in good order, no leaks, etc., then try 40 and 50 weight. It can be too viscous and the springs don't work well enough. All part of the fun!! Al.
  16. That was 'the other' I couldn't think of - thanks! Al.
  17. It's all a balance between oil and spring strength. No point putting a thicker oil in if the spring is weak. Are there any leaks? Stock MERV shocks are notorious for leaks. Is it stock? (Has anything been changed to make it heavier - alloy, bigger ESC, bigger motor, etc.?) Al.
  18. Try Ebay, RCMart, Hobbyking ... there are options out there. Al.
  19. Found 20 minutes to clean the FG MT's wheels and body. Not easy when 'my shadow' (5-year-old youngest) is following me everywhere!! Yes, those E6000-glued tyres are still solid as ever! Al
  20. Hadn't fired up the FG MT for a couple of months, so put some fuel in, primed OK, and got it fired up a week or so ago, idled, then revved up a bit - all in the garage with the family out for a couple of hours - killed (before it did me!!), then noticed my alternative (it's bigger to hold all of the splitters, etc.) radio box was broken - probably had been for a while - and also noticed it's still caked in mud - shame on me. Came to it this evening, charged up the 4200 mAh 2S LiFe battery, then tried the enrichen technique as I use an 813 in my Trevor Simpson 2-bolt reed valve 29.5 cc motor - fired up easily, but obviously rich. As lighting isn't that good in the garage, I decided to kill, lean off, then fire up again - when I killed the pullstart pawl!! Thought I had replaced with a metal one, but hadn't - it's still a plastic pawl. Never mind - another job! Decided to remove the wheels, braces and Hoover out the dried grass - plenty but not huge amount like you can see in forum photos, so it's ready for a good clean and lube - do it good. Al.
  21. LOVELY looking rig. Almost thought it was mine!! Same pipe, but I have the black one - FG 'Tuning'. Now get the body 'right' - if there isn't one already. How's the Tonegawa steering servo - what voltage is running through it - I think it can take up to 3S. Al.
  22. To be honest I only see ratchet straps, which would be much better on wherever they retain the vehicles. Like I said, I didn't comment much as I don't like 'negative comments' anyway - yours demands the appreciation it's getting - looks great. Is there a cuppa in there as well? ... or used Irn Bru or Lucozade or Red Bull bottles or cans ... truckers will be truckers ... Al.
  23. Is the motor spinning quickly, but the Carnage isn't moving much? Check for loose or missing grub screws. Check all gear meshing. Check driveshafts. If things are spinning, check at which point it no longer moves quickly - could even be a loose wheel nut or 2. Al.
