  1. Gloplug

    Wanted!

Why not just take it to your LHS????? They should be able to sort you out.....!
  2. Warm it up at home 1st, run it for a bit, then take it to your open space......? OR a 12V soldering iron which plugs into ciggy lighter will do the trick.
  3. I have fitted a pair of MG995 servos on my savvy,
  4. cos they are cheap...... I presume you mean the steering knuckles/joints? as opposed to the driveshafts mentioned in the above reply??
  5. Yeah, it's a tri-wing security bit u need. the nintendo ones are very small, I have one. Try screwfix...or just buy a new glue gun for about a tenner......LOL
  6. Get hold of a 6V 'flat type' battery often found in 'toy' radio control cars...(TYCO, EZTEC, HITARI etc etc) 1st you need to carefully cut open the plastic case....If you have enough room inside your car/truck, you will be able to skip this step and just solder onto the tabs on the side of the battery. inside you will find 5 'AA' 1.2V rechargable batteries which have spot welded tabs connecting them in series. seperate them (but leave connecting tabs in place) into 3 and 2 and VERY carefully fold the 2 on top of the 3 (this is a bit tight, but with care can be done), secure them neatly round with PVC tape. extend the existing leads as you wish and put a suitable connector on the end for use/charging. If you open the charger up that comes with it, you can even take out a pair of leads to charge the pack whilst still in the car/truck. I have one of these 'home brew' hump packs fitted in both my Savvy (with MG995 servos) and the CEN and they work just great......! (fitting in the Savage requires two plastic tabs cutting off in the front of radio box lid)
  7. I have changed the brand of fuel I am using (same nitro 25%) and retuned, the problem has now gone away Thanks for suggestions guys
  8. OK folks, heres an update.... Had chance today to have a fiddle....I have fitted a 6V hump pack and tried the MG995 servos again....work PERFECTLY...!!! (they never worked with the 4x1.5V standard batteries??) The brakes are sooooo sharp now, it will do a forward roll if you slam em on.....the wheels will turn very quickly lock to lock at standstill :) Just what I was after and VERY dissapointing that HPI can't fit decent servos from new Anyone wanting better brakes and steering on the Savvy, a 6V hump pack and a pair of MG995 servos do the job just great.....
  9. How odd? A model shop with no landline number, just a mobile.....??? http://www.bgrcmodels.com/catalog/ Tel: 07772966402 - is that not the "Flirt Divert" number off Radio 1?????
  10. Oil pollution in the worlds oceans.....the biggest cause of it being there is NOT natural seepage, it is NOT spillage from oil tankers/shipping accidents....but the main cause is folks putting used engine oil down the drains.....!!! THIS IS TRUE....!!
  11. Yeah WD-40 does lubricate, but not the type that a ball race needs to survive...it will actually degrease the bearing and leave it with very little lubrication, best using a 'spray grease' type aerosol, the type used for motorcycle chains is pretty good....
  12. Begger all use for non-ferrous stuff though.....!!! LOL
  13. Oh dear....we used to use them for parts deliveries for work (field service engineer)...I received several boxes that had been RUN OVER and had the tyre marks on to prove it....!!! Packages were sent no sig reqd, so they got away with it.....!!! But I am sure your Savvy will be fine....
  14. I bet you getting twitchy now.......
  15. And yer mum will kick your butt when she sees the grubby towel back on the radiator in the bathroom......LOL
  16. As long as it was 12V and the starter box reqs 12V, then that won't have caused your problem.....
  17. I got a couple of towerpro MG995 servos, but for some reason they refuse to work with my Savvy RX gear?? Fine on my other cars gear, still not sure why, but they have some hellish torque....!!!!
  18. I think he means 2mm showing at WOT....??? i.e. not fully open??
  19. I barrell rolled my Savvy at speed into a huge puddle yesterday (by accident)....landed on its wheels....lots of steam....it was a fair distance from me too, so I just throttled it out and it ran fine, I think the radio box keeps most splashes away from water critical parts - the main one being the RX unit as sockets are not sealed..... At least it came out clean......LOL
  20. Cheers all, plenty of ideas to work with there....gonna be weekend before I can check it out properly though. RE: throttle return, it seems fine every time I cycle the throttle stationary (engine off)? but will bear it in mind.. So fatten the HSN up and maybe even LSN also??? will give it a go and report back
  21. If you imagine a clock face with 16 hours on it.....just turn it one hour.....!! LOL Or about 50 minutes on a normal 12 hour clock face.........
