It is a spektrum ESC. I’ll look at getting a box. What throws me though is it doesn’t seem to have an issue with the spektrum lipos. I’ve just got some gens ace ones so I’ll see how they get on.

I’ve just started to try and get out again. I’ve been very unmotivated partly because of what I do for a living. I get a bit sick of looking at bikes!

A lot depends on what space you have to run it. They’re great fun but can sound a lot like a cross between a strimmer and a motocross bike and that can upset people and may lesson your runtime.

I’ve been looking into that, it would appear you can’t manually set the LVC (at least the manual doesn’t reveal that) I did wonder if it’s an lvc issue.

Properly charged on every occasion. It’s curious that they appear to work fine on the Big Rock. I’d put it down to being a drag issue if it wasn’t for the spektrum batteries working fine.

Couldn’t tell you to be honest. I’ve checked the battery’s at home on the charger, nothings standing out. Balance charged, and storage charged after use. Spektrum lipos no bother a little curious to say the least.

Stripped the motor out of the vortek, changed the pinion to a 20t one. 18t one was a little worn. Also found the slipper and been slipping a bit to much so gave that a tweak. Took it out for a rip with the old man, 55mph+ on grass with wheelies aplenty. Really is a fun little thing.

Not sure if this is an issue or not but my Vortek doesn’t seem to like Zee 5200mah (80c) lipos. I get probably no more than 5 minutes of running on one. I’ve run them in the old man’s Big Rock and they last between 15-20 minutes with his heavy trigger finger. I stick spektrum lipos in the Vortek and I get a similar 15-20 min run time. Anyone else had this issue before?

Well to a point but this seems more than usual. Certainly seems different to when I first got it anyway.

I’ve noticed that my Vorteks seems more tail happy than it should be. There’s no obvious issues, everything’s tight driveshaft wise. No mysterious noises or rough feeling. I’ve just noticed it seems to pull to one side under power. Is this a matter of a dif oil change?

Had a good thrash about down the field. Come to the conclusion I need more batteries!

I did think of ammo boxes after I posted this! I have access to quite a few thanks to some prior hobby activities!

As my Lipo collection grows I need to think about the safe storage of and transport of said lipos. What do you guys do? I know you can get Lipo safe sacks/boxes. I’m going to have a minimum of six lipos at a time I think so that’s quite a bit of potential bang so to speak.

Went for a blast down the field with the old man. Nothing fell off! Loctite session worked a treat!😃👍

I’ve just got the T200 SkyRc charger. Impressed so far, quick and easy to use. It’ll cover all your chemistry needs I believe. Oh and it’ll charge single batteries.
