  1. Have you got any other pics from different angles? That doesn’t look right at all, are the front shocks seized from sitting about?
  2. Yeah have contacted who I brought it off and they said they would just replace it 🙂
  3. This is the max10 60A paired with a 5400kv so surely it can handle a 4300kv?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352761668903?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=b1UG2asFR5y&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=uDWqHc-zSrO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  4. I also had a interesting day with my vantage and it’s new 120A esc So I took my buggy out yesterday, was using it on grass but it was a lovely dry day, 10 minutes into its first run it just suddenly stopped. Nothing running no fans or anything going. Tried turning it on and it occasionally sparked into life for a second then switched off. When it first stopped I checked both the esc and motor for temperature and they were both just warm (I could keep my hand on them). This is a max10 esc combo with a 4600kv motor. I think it has only had 6 batteries run through it and never in the wet. When using a fully charged battery it stays on through startup but then dies when throttle is applied, when I was trying with a partially charged battery it sometimes didn’t respond at all and if it did just flick on and off. I reset the esc to default setting with the program card but it still does the same thing! Any clues people or should I just send the thing back as it is barely out the box??
  5. I did ask jack what 4s he used in his vantage and he replied “Used Turnigy 2650mah 4s soft pack 25C yes it cliped in” so you could try that

  7. Just a quick question, what 4s battery did you use? Did you get one that fitted in the bay with it clipped in?
  8. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/aluminum-chassis-plate-1-10-quanum-vandal-4wd-racing-buggy.html?queryID=4035a25eb8cb3d52461a6079d671b833&objectID=19666&indexName=hbk_live_products_analytics it is out of stock ☹️ I really want one as I think I will snap a carbon one as I have with other carbon bits
  9. Hobby king used to do one for the vandal which is exactly the same but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore, they also do a carbon fibre one which is much cheaper than other ftx ones. But do have to wait for delivery from Hong kong
  10. Very good advice, ant knows his stuff, get the brushed version then upgrade as you chose rather than forking out extra for very bog standard esc and brushless motor. I think half the fun is upgrading stuff!
  11. Well…. She is proper bad arse now! Crazy fast, struggled to have the room to get her up to full throttle over two football pitches. Was wheeling with any spurt on the throttle at any speed, dread to think how quick it was going over grass?? After proper punishment the motor was only warm so the fans doing a great job, wish I had a gps speed thingy to see how fast it goes. The new shocks performed really now the oil is sorted. got some road tyres to do some tarmac runs, tis going to be silly quick! will try and get some video but am mostly out on my own so maybe ask a interested passer by to film a bit, there were quite a few people stood watching this crazy little thing shooting across the grass! the whole thing held together really well till I took a jump at silly speed, got wonky on the landing and it did about 20 cartwheels, it smashed the two left wheels to bits but nothing else bent or damaged so think I have a good combination of stiff unbreakable bits and bendy plastic bits. Anyway I am chuffed with my little vantage rocket!
  12. Hmm, that is strange, perhaps it is a problem with the servo then? You can pick up some relatively cheap ones on Amazon that will do the job. You should be able to tighten up the screw on top of the servo saver as tight as it will go, if tighten it causes the servo to bind then there is something wrong, perhaps that clip that I mentioned earlier!
  13. So my esc and motor turned up today, so fitted them both, bit of a tight squeeze but managed to fit it all without having to modify the chassis, just had to take a tiny notch out the bottom of the upper plate for the esc capacitors. Am really happy with how it turned out, had to cut out the shell for the yeah racing double fan but knew I would have to and it looks quite mean I think. anyway will see how it goes on the morrow!!
  14. Yeah that’s all I can think has happened, they seem fine now I have cleaned and put new oil in!
  15. So took the vantage out with the new shocks, something very strange happened, very quickly the front ones got very stiff till they nearly refused to move and then the rears went the opposite, it seemed like they had no dampening at all! Very weird, so took the shocks apart and all the shock oil had separated, there was a water like substance then a thick rubber like gloopy stuff! This had stuffed up the fronts and just got pushed to the top of the rear shock so the oil was like water. Was using brand new team associated shock oil so the only thing I can think of is that it reacted to the oil that was in the shock from manufacture. has anyone else had this? anyway have stripped them all and cleaned them and then put in some different shock oil and will see how they go as last run was not a very balanced affair!!
  16. Yeah you might be right, donate this one to my son perhaps!
  17. I did exactly this with a ftx vantage which is very similar to the carnage, I have broken it and upgraded it and enjoyed the process. There are shed loads of spares available at reasonable prices and lots of hop-ups to upgrade as the plastic bits break. Can’t comment on the brushed running gear as I have the brushless version but the upgrade to brushless will cost you about £50 if you decide to do that. All in all I would say they are good value for money. check out the if you want to have a look at what it is all about. enjoy!
  18. Right…. Spent hours trawling eBay and found some shocks that were nearly exactly the same length (4mm shorter than stock) they were a slightly bigger bore but not as big as the last lot. Also came in the lovely dark blue. I am a bit of a tart for anodising!! They feel 100 times better than the stock ones so will see how they perform when I go bashing tomorrow. Have ordered a hobbywing max10 esc and 4000kvh motor combo which is coming Tuesday, have probably gone a bit overboard with the motor and it will tear itself to pieces but what the hey!!
  19. I did try that but they were slightly longer than the stock shock and putting them there made them super stiff and it was like a pogo stick bouncing around!
  20. Hmmm, big bore shocks didn’t work out so well, the constricted the turning so it was pretty undrivable! Never mind was worth a try
  21. Haha, the name of the seller is ‘pocket change’!! Need a bit more than that for this purchase!
  22. Also looks like that is a ftx carnage or similar, it isn’t exactly clear but there should be a c-clip at the top of the servo saver that holds the spring in compression, it looks as though it is missing in the vid, that will make your steering quite baggy. Although I might be wrong
  23. Hi, have watched the vid but not sure what the actual problem is? If it is slightly off centre you can adjust the steering trim on the transmitter or the turnbuckle on the servo link. hope this helps, if I have got the wrong end of the stick then let me know!
  24. Those wheels were a little Extreem for my little buggy! Although have gone a bit mad this week on buying shiny aluminium parts, I also got some big bore shocks as I have continued to be underwhelmed by the stock shocks, slight tweaks needed to get them to fit and the buggy is now sitting higher which might effect its cornering but I am hoping it will handle landing jumps much better, will see how it goes if the weather is ok tomorrow
