  1. Assuming it’s fully working, all electrics including transmitter, I’d say around £700.
  2. Welcome to MSUK! I’m north Essex nr. Braintree 👍🏻
  3. Not seen a fan mounted to a motor without a heat sink before. Took me a moment to work out how it’s mounted. Looks decent!
  4. No worries. Sorry for ridiculously long link 😆
  5. https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005002483725023.html?_randl_currency=GBP&_randl_shipto=GB&src=google&gbraid=0AAAAAD6I-hEt5Ml9Zt2QW2m5cLmyRIXgH&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=9604713100&albag=99283534296&trgt=313429380675&crea=en1005002483725023&netw=u&device=m&albpg=313429380675&albpd=en1005002483725023&gbraid=0AAAAAD6I-hEt5Ml9Zt2QW2m5cLmyRIXgH&gclid=CjwKCAiAjoeRBhAJEiwAYY3nDPSyFQzkBU65ZhrHgU4TE2kWc5PxfEC08BoZ9dxgWnB9wcf1Z18omBoCibYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=916a5660e24645de970fddd0d1df542d-1646425677272-08107-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=916a5660e24645de970fddd0d1df542d-1646425677272-08107-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=c21b48b3245b422aa2f5f0f15f5e5244&afSmartRedirect=y i believe this is their top of the range?
  6. Not much more than the Amazon specials, but a whole lot more servo! Loving it so far 👍🏻
  7. Fitted these beautiful wheels to my X-Maxx! 😍: Used the new crimping tool to fit a J plug on the end of an esc fan: Greased up the wheel bearings on the Xmaxx: Fitted an EcoBoost CLS6322HV to the Agama: IMG_7314.MOV
  8. Some Louise X Pioneer wheels for the X-Maxx: Some dirt cheap (£11 for 5 from Amazon Prime) 35mm fans to replace the rubbish that came in the Max6: The fans came with the wrong plug on the end so ordered some Futaba J plugs and a ratchet tool at the same time: Finally some grease for my bearings:
  9. If I was to buy wheels today, I’d be trying these out: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/jetko-mt-extreme-tyre-rockform-belted-on-trx-rustler-hoss-black-rims-12mm-hex-2--1337903 heard nothing but good things about this brand!
  10. I was pretty much think to buy new. I just didn’t know how necessary/important/valuable those ‘upgrades’ were. I mean if I’m going to end up wanting to do them, it would have maybe been a good idea to get it. thanks for the responses 👍🏻
  11. Thank you for this. I didn’t get it in the end. Felt too rushed. I can always go back. Im still unsure based on your response. I was aware you can buy new for less, but wondered if the ‘upgrades’ made it a worthwhile buy regardless. Also, I’m guessing the one for sale isn’t the ‘v2’, and wonder if this is a better option anyway.
  12. Perhaps brittle was the wrong word to use? Perhaps rubbish is a better description? 😂 I’ve often used the carnage in cold weather conditions which hasn’t helped. Basically I found that something had broken before I’d put a single pack through it almost every outing. Not so much now various parts have been replaced with the upgrades. I also learnt to order duplicate replacements when something broke, so to avoid waiting on replacements next time. As the parts are so cheap, it’s a good idea to stock up. I changed my wheels (as the stock inserts had turned to dust within a few runs) and also put 40wt shock oil in mine. Both these changes were an improvement. The standard shocks are fine in my opinion, and a belly slap is quite normal on bigger jumps, so don’t worry about that too much.
  13. Is this a good buy? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1118452515575365/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Ac8b23679-6d7a-43e0-a608-31c00ef61414 its only that I’m in Braintree this eve so could pick up.
  14. So I’ve added a new flexible wing mount (unbranded from eBay) as I’ve been through a few of the standard ones now. The arms either snapped, or the screws which secure it into the gearbox sheer off. The flexible mount and heavier gauge screw seem to have cured the issue. I had some horrible landings during the last outing, and the all is still intact! Only thing that stopped play was the fan plug on the esc coming loose and it overheated. The high temp cutout came into effect and saved the esc from cooking itself. Really enjoying this truck at the moment! 😁
  15. I have the carbon towers on my carnage and they’re one of the only parts on the truck I haven’t had problems with. Usually the advise is to stay with plastic, but FTX plastic is just so brittle. I’ve now a mixture of carbon and alloy replacement parts for common weak spots and its been pretty good compared to stock. The alloy ones will be better than the stock plastic, but it will bend, probably before doing damage to the gearbox.
  16. Not in my recent experience ☹️ ordered a servo from AliExpress on 10th Feb. The expected delivery keeps creeping up. Currently saying 11th April. A painful wait for me. Will think twice before ordering again from them.
  17. So ‘ender 2’ is now a strong contender too! I’ll only likely be printing rc parts initially whilst I get a feel for things and learn how it all works. If I then wanted to get more involved, I’m sure there are plenty of bigger, more complex bits of kit. not having to build the printer does sound good. I hadn’t even considered the fact I could end up with a bag of bits to put together!
  18. Most of the time?! 😬😣 I assumed there would be at least some learning to do in both theory and practice, so you haven’t managed to put me off just yet. Software for designing bits would be essential, as this is the main reason I’d like to get one. There have been times I’ve waited weeks for bits to arrive that work but aren’t exactly what I was after so then had to modify. Would be so good to have the option to just make something. detail isn’t so important, so filament sounds like the right path for me, and ‘ender 3’ is currently top of the list…
  19. I get that there will be potential for issues, as is the case with most electrical things, but perhaps what I’m looking for is the most user friendly option, without breaking the bank. The cost would ultimately make the ‘should I get one’ decision for me, as this is more of a want than a need. Like you suggested, I can imagine that satisfaction feeling from making your own bespoke piece to be quite high!
  20. Have you been able to put the battery into storage at correct voltage (around 3.8v per cell) when not in use? It’s vital that this is done for battery life and more so for safety reasons.
  21. I was thinking the same until I read that the battery is charged. With only one battery it will be difficult to tell unless a capacity meter of some description is to hand to rule it out?
  22. I have absolutely no experience with 3D printing, but it is something that interests me and could also be a big help with lots of things, especially rc related. is there a go to entry level printer that’s capable of basics? I’m not looking to print anything large, or overly complex, but would be great to be able to design and print custom mounts for fans, small detail parts etc etc. Or, maybe I’m naive, and this is better left to those that know what they’re doing? Something I won’t have is much time to invest in this if I was to buy one. Are they fairly user friendly?
  23. That place looks amazing! The lack of clouds in the sky helps 😎
