  1. Not any more. There are rumours, be they true or false, that 3S Arrmas have been recalled in the UK (and other regions such as Canada) due to... something? Some say a part infringing patent, other whispering about possible unlicensed asbestos use. Certainly all 3S Arrmas are suddenly out of stock for the rest of the year on Modelsport and Wheelspin.
  2. 1/10 MTs are my favourite RC segment! But each to their own, I guess. HPI has also released some models recently having been acquired by new owners, so am not sure it's fair to write them off just yet... As for the Mavericks, they are rebranded models from other manufacturers so I guess it depends on which model you're looking at. I'd probably skip them myself tbh.
  3. I've been eying up the 2WD Jumpshot Flux's for a while now and am probably gonna gamble on an MT for my next purchase. I'll be sure to let y'all know if it comes back to bite me!
  4. I cracked her open today but rain descended, thus scuppering my outing. But she's a beauty to look at!
  5. The Granite keeps hovering right near the top of my 'to buy' list, although I haven't got one just yet. Perhaps the next purchase! Although I said that last time and just went a bought a brushless Kyosho Mad Van...
  6. Fair play to him, I say. He's clearly done well out of it. You can never please everyone. I watch his stuff and admit at times he can be a tad annoying - some of the soundbites do my head him - but I do enjoy it when he's having a genuine laugh with his mates. I thought the boat vid was one of his best in a while tbh.
  7. Really? Not sure what you've been watching 'cos the stuff I've seen make it look amazing?
  8. Hmm, I'm not sure what to say mate. That has not been my experience of the stock truck at all.
  9. I meant more that, in the case of the Bomber, opening it up is a minor operation it itself.
  10. I know torque twist is something that folk generally try to lessen, but honestly - I've been watching some RC vids and I kind of love the idea of an out-of-control beast ripping stuff up. So I'm looking for some recommendations for electric RCs that have LOADS of torque twists. Stuff I've seen so far that appeals to me is the Axial Ryft (though there appear to be some fragility concerns) and the FTX Outlaw (I admit to being a bit skeptical about the brand). I was also tempted by the Axial Bomber though it sounds like a bit of a nightmare to work on. Does anyone have any other recommendations or suggestions?
  11. Yeah, I was going to say that. You can of course swap connectors around but it's a bit of a faff. Plus, keeping 'on brand' means any spares you build up with repairs have a good chance of being cross compatible.
  12. I've nearly bought this so many times now! Still paralysed with ridiculous indecision about this and the Associated Trophy Rat. Might just get both to end the pain...
  13. Nice! She certainly handles wonderfully, and I perhaps prefer her on 2S tbh. You going to replace the wheels with an alternative? I've pondered a wheel upgrade myself but haven't made up my mind.
  14. Mate, I know exactly how you feel. I only got into RC at the start of the year and found myself wanting to swap a connector. Like you say, the YouTube folk make it look so easy but I made a right pig's ear of it. Ultimately, what made life loads easier for me was: 1. Wedge-shaped soldering tip instead of a pointy one 2. Proper lead solder (melts at a lower heat) 3. Flux (makes the solder behave) 4. Swapping the EC5 connectors for IC5s (they're loads easier to work with, tho much pricier) I'm far from an expert, but the changes above have been a big help and I'm getting there.
  15. These are now available! Front Rear But, from what I can tell, they don't seem to be shipping them to the UK?
  16. See, I'm still very much in the learning phase so lack the confidence for most modding at the moment! Have just bought myself a Kyoto kit which I'm going to have to put together as a learning experience, actually. Also got lots of stuff to do on my Talion (RPM arms etc). Am slowly getting there!
  17. I'm really interested in getting a 2WD truggy and have nearly pulled the trigger on the Team Associated Trophy rat a few times. This looks pretty interesting though! Anyone got any experience of both and how they compare?
  18. As the sway bar isn't due out until May, what shocks could be used for a second set on the rear in the interim as per RCSparks' video? (sorry, bit of a noob and I still have trouble figuring part compatibility out...)
  19. I just saw KT's video about this and the truck looks like a riot. Sounds like it's in need of some top-ups that aren't yet available, though?
  20. I picked up a set of these last month. Really sturdy, decent price and various config options. https://www.garage-shelving.co.uk/shelving/light-duty-shelving/folding-shelving/?attribute_pa_height-mm=890-2&attribute_pa_width-mm=735&attribute_pa_depth-mm=335&attribute_pa_colour=red
  21. I'm happy to pay the import premium to get my hands on some arms asap - would love to let rip with this truck without fear!
  22. Ah nice, this is awesome news. I've not yet broken an arm but do have a spare set in case (they seem to be quite hard to find, so when I stumbled across some recently I snapped them up). Will deffo upgrade to RPMs tho. I've been spen ding a lot of time with my Mojave and Big Rock recently but there's something about the way this truck handles that I really love.
