I have Purchased The Standard Re Re P parts tree in Red and will prime & paint the nose Black if needs be , but would rather the Black part to start with. Blitzer Beetle Tree Purchased for the other Black parts so its really just the Nose i'm needing .. There is a company in the USA that has the set of parts but he won't split them!! There must be a set somewhere surely ???

Well thats project "Herbie" finished & i am really pleased with it. Studied Herbie the Volkswagen and there was never one car the same. The Love bug Car was actually a 1957 Oval Beetle Modified to a 1963 Rag Top! I used Tamiya PS-57 Pearl with Fastrax Ivory White backing ,bought from Modelsport as no one had PS-1 .. I painted the wheels too as they was grey. Fully Ball Raced all 24 Bearing & a Hop Up Alloy Prop-shaft complete the build. After Running it in my garden its very bouncy so will look into a CVA Damper set for the future .. Onto next project ...

I have 14 x 1150 bearings rubber sealed so ordering up the rest , like you say wise move before its together ..

Got a little it done today , ordered a few bearing's and a Hop Up Prop shaft as only had 14 ,1150 ball races that were purchased for another build that never came off. The MF-01X Chassis uses 24 bearings in total , so 6 short on 1150 & 4 x 850's Seen a You Tube video that you can get loads of Hop Ups for this so that might be something to look into later on ..

I will be just running it standard , did you ball race your one ??

Yayyy it's here the Volkswagen Beetle Rally 4WD MF-01X Chassis Kit Number 58650. I Love Volkswagen Beetles as you can see from previous posts .. Sand Scorcher Build, Monster Beetle Build .. so a 4WD Rally Herbie was next. Bit of a Shock this morning , my Partner is one in a million, already had bought me the Monster Beetle for my Birthday. So to find a box on the settee and its for me kinda threw me a bit! Seeing i was looking into one soon as i could afford it , went and bought it... I didn't have the funds as off work at the moment so watching spends. Was even thinking of painting our Cockatiel white and selling him on eBay as a dove .. 🤣 to fund one. His safe wouldn't do that to him love him too much. So what is the plan 🤔 Well I'm a big Herbie fan so I've Sourced the Herbie Decal sheet and just got to find the correct colour.. We have a set of ball races in a bag a set i purchased for a DT03T chassis i was going to buy but never came off. Will match as many as we can, looks standard sizes so should be good! It comes with a Torque Tuned RS540 motor that's staying, I've found these to be a great motor for blasting round the garden. Well my speed i can control 🤣 Esc is a Mtroniks Sniper RV-20 The Modelsport UK one Radio is a Carson Reflex Wheel 2.4Ghz

So had the Scorcher running round the garden today.. Just the rear light to paint and its finished Was a bit disappointed the battery only lasted 15 mins from a full charge. Carson 2700 Hump pack. Still this won't be used much as its a shelf queen. Too expensive to damage!! On to next build

My Tamiya Sand Scorcher Re Re is at the stage of needing a Esc & the Servo /Receiver to be fitted. I have purchased these from Modelsport Shop Online. My Question is my gearbox seems to be not free turning .. i.e you cant spin a wheel round. It does turn but seems tight! Any ideas ?? Or should i strip it start again ?? Was going to see what its like once its at running stage but don't want to break anything.

Always found Modelsport a great shop & love the forum! Nice one Nick just put 2 orders in with the shop for my Sand Scorcher build.

My Partner bought me this 2015 Re Re Monster Beetle kit as a birthday present. I was halfway through building my Sand Scorcher but decided to build this first. Fully Ball Raced & Torque Tuned Motor .. has Original 540 in at moment as the Torque Tuned failed to work! So waiting for a replacement to turn up. We painted the shell with Royal Mail van Red paint 4 coats.. then 3 coats of clear lacquer. Shiny is an understatement Plastic primed of coarse first .. Had it flying round our garden Sunday love it ! I want the Black Edition next for my collection

that is it for today .. Number plate surrounds painted satin back, exhaust painted satin black & wipers too. Decals added to plates and all fitted!

Thank you this has taken me over a month to build lol ,very fiddly and paintwork hard to get right .. But its getting there slowly now!
