Sorry for the delay, been a bit manic with work. Will get back to the boat build shortly

Some Chinese tyres, that were quickly mounted on some Chinese wheels lol. The tyres are just to try as they look just like Hyrax tyres but feel a little firmer, not terrible and definitely not the worst rubber I've come across.

Got the body mounted on my new build....... Got an old set of Canyon Trails on it at the moment but new wheel and tyres are on the way.

I've got these if they are any use, came off an old Fighter Buggy RX, that died last year. No idea what they are worth so make me an offer. (second pic so you can see the condition of the hexs on the rear set.)

Finished weathering the winch on the BOM, added a winch controller and stuck all the electronics in balloons.

@Oh How Original That's a result. Was pretty sure a person of your experience wouldn't have broken it by misuse (or at least admitted it).

OHOs Vanquish VS4-10 Pro build.

Will be really interesting to see how your build goes, and what you make of the Pro. I loved building my Ultra, but am not a huge fan of the shocks, mine leak quite badly, I should rebuild them really. That said, it is a joy to drive. -
@Stormbringer Thanks for the advice, it is greatly appreciated. I did fill the prop shaft with grease but its been in and out a bit today so will refill it before it sees water.

So a lot more painting and sanding today. Then the scary bit - cutting holes in the hull for the prop shaft and the funny little bit under it. Not sure I have done this bit right, currently its Millputs and epoxy resin holding it in place. Lots of finishing to do including more epoxy to seal in the shaft and bits. Hopefully in the end it will be watertight. And I know the nut holding the prop on isn't done up, it just there so I don't loose it.

I got some 2mm sheet recently from Ebay. They are only small sheets but seem pretty good, and cut well on my CNC. I used these prople: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/partzone9102?_bkw=carbon+fibre+sheet They do 4mm sheet too, but seem pretty low on stock at present.

@Stormbringer That's what I figured, there goes my lazy ways, time to do it properly.

Some progress over the last couple of days. Firstly, I test fitted the deck, just to see how it fitted, coke can for scale. Additionally, some of the other bits for the deck have been started and the power plant has been assembled and tested for alignment. I think it may time to think about fitting the tube into the hull, bit scary as I will need to drill the perfectly watertight hull and make holes in it....... Still getting my head around working with wood in this way, not sure I fully understand how to get a good finish but will persevere and see what we end up with. Any tips and tricks greatly appreciated 😀

So recently I decided to try a bit of RC Boating. Being old and slow, I liked the idea of scale/semi scale boats. As I had never built one before I picked up a fairly cheap kit and got this one: Today I got a chance to actually have a proper look at it and it seems pretty good. Here is the contents of the kit laid out. I am thinking of doing a build thread, I am a newbie to boats so it could be a disaster but hopefully not. Will only do the build thread if people are interested, so if you fancy seeing this build let me know.
