  1. Here is mine, hopefully you can kinda see what I mean about getting paint into the scuffs and the stickers staying on... as you can see it has been bashed and most of the stickers survived. If you just try and pain the raw plastic... it just flakes off, as you can see, but where it's scuffed up it sorta works and ends up looking like it's meant to be that way. I have a Kyosho FOXX body that I plan to make work on this car, but I'm honestly alright with how this looks.
  2. *Looks in electronics box* It appears I have a motor, ESC, receiver, servo... But no car to put them in...
  3. I actually thought the unbreakabales were polyethylene based... same issue with paint and stickers. I did get stickers to stay on my unbreakable bodies, just have to heat them up a bit and really push them on, there was a sticker set that came from America that worked. They were super thick. In terms of making them look less crap, you just have to accept that they will will never look like a pristine scale car, and as they get scuffed up you can get paint into the scuffs to make it look "weathered". The metallic paint pen that I used on my "desert militia" one worked ok.
  4. I have a load of those teathered body pins, they really are top. My only advice would be to give them another crimp if you have the tool, as it can come loose. All I did today was try and make some inserts for the MT410 bumper, which didnt really work... V2 printing as I type. I also did some minor maintenence on my daughters Maverick ION (heavily modded). Just put a bigger motor in (3600KV up from 3000KV, still relatively tame) and sorted out the servo arm which was slipping. If that slips again, I think it will need a new one.
  5. I have designed some inserts by the way, was going to print them today... only.... Goddamn 3D printing 🤦🏼‍♂️ Never had nylon stick TOO well before.
  6. Body posts and bumper breaking seems like a fairly good trade off. Easy to replace and not too expensive. All in all, successfull bashing 👍
  7. Finished the paint job on the Power Wagon... just need to sort out the body posts now. Going to design and print everything that this truck needs. Nothing fancy here, I'm not a big time scale truck dude, I just gave it a light dusting of a light green, then a good thick coat of racing green (it's what I had) to give it a bit of texture rather than it being a completely flat dark green. Kinda tempted to do a wood effect on the inside of the bed as I think it would look cool... but it's a lot of effort 😄
  8. Thanks mate. I'm really getting that particular material dialled in. It's as much the filament as it is me, really top notch stuff 👍
  9. Yeah that looks to be the case. It seems to be available as a seperate part. The V3 saver with a harder spring would actually be an excellent combo! I'd still add an extra nut to the bottom of the servo saver, just to be sure it doesnt come loose, but you might not need to tension it quite so much as I had to.
  10. It's on the way to you mate 👍 I have a spare hot racing one, another one of these ones, and the ones that are on each of my 2 Arrmas, so I think I can part with it 😄 I didnt include the Ackerman btw, not because I'm stingy, but because it's from a Durango DEX and doesn't work 😉
  11. Got the MT410 back together using my home made parts. Also note the rear end bulkhead mod with a flanged bearing and shorter (serpent) driveshaft. But then I put the shell on and noticed an issue with my custom made wheelie wheel: Bye bye license plate 😞 It's just an unbreakable shell, and as you can see... its used: But I have taken the ESC re-location plate off and test fit my new spur shield (for preventing cables coming loose and getting in there... ask me how I know): Looks good, but needs some modding to fit correctly, made a few measuring oopsies. New version printing now.
  12. Some images of the nylon version of the RC part I previously mentioned. Notice I use a heatset insert for the thread. One of the weak points of 3D printed plastic is the threads, usually not great but these things work awesome. Dimensionally, they're spot on. Here is the design for a version with a spur cover:
  13. Been quite busy with RC stuff today. Put my ET410 back together, so that's ready to rock: Changed the ESC in the granite from the garbage BLX100 to a Hobbywing WP SC8 SCT, so that's ready to rock: Then I went to re-assemble my MT410, and realised it was missing a really annoying part... the motor mount cover thingy. I considered ordering one, but I know what Tekno prices can be like, you have to order a packet of plastic parts, most of which I will never need... so I just designed it in Fusion 360 and did a test print: Happy with that... does it fit? Aye, that'll do 'er. Going to do a print with Nylon now. Might even do a version with a spur shield so I don't get cables tangled up in it. Anyone interested in one if I make a few sets? Probably like £15 or so?
  14. Looks liek the screws pulled out? If the rest of the bulkhead is alright, you might get away with using superglue as threadlocker... might last for a bash or two 😄
  15. i have a design for EXB Mudguards, I don't have the centre one though 😞 Not to say I can't do one, but I just don't have it to churn out and send over to you immedietly.
  16. Now who does 3D printing... I'm sure I know a guy who has a few high end printers and makes 3D printed parts out of material that other 3D printing folk don't even consider... what's his name again 🤔
  17. Makes me laugh when a package arrives that you were absolutely 100% convinced was lost forever.
  18. Thanks @Oh How Original! Think my son is more excited about the idea of crawler than I am. He loves watching them on youtube so it should be fun.
  19. Ordered some. Not sure why but I did.
  20. So I've decided to buidl a trail truck this summer and I've started out with the body... Power Wagon.

Next up... need to choose a kit. Right now im looking at the Axial SCX II. Anyone want to tell me that it's the wrong/right way to go?

I hear very good things about the HPI trail creator kit

I still vote Enduro, lower price and better specced than the SCX10ii.

Looks like I might be getting OHO's Enduro 🙂

  21. Nice to have some positive comments on here, looking forward to what you bring to the thread 👍 I think with the weather getting better it's time to get these suckers out!
  22. Yeah I have a few Alza parts. Really good quality and very simple parts, I'm definitely a.... fan. I've taken the Max6 part off though, as you can get aluminium framed 35mm fans which fit. Mine wasn't fast delivery though, took bloody weeks!
  23. I mean if you stay stock, you only have to buy a pair, rather than all 4... so I would agree.
