  1. Sorry for the thread revival but search up West Suffolk Drift on Facebook, we meet around once a month near Bury St Edmunds, next meet is September 4th, it's a good time for sure.
  2. Selling my beloved Absima AB3.4 Spec: -Turnigy trackstar 80amp ESC with 13.5t motor combo -Turnigy trackstar low profile servo (0.05s response time) 9kg -Turnigy trackstar 100mm fully adjustable shocks -Front aluminium skidplate (Essential) -custom rear wing mount that does not break like the standard one Comes with spare wheels, rear diff, extra spur and motor heat sink. I have an entire build thread for this car right here: https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/237734-fnknans-absima-ab34/ I have spent many hours and a decent bit of cash modifying this buggy to be a fun and reliable basher. Only selling to free up funds for my drift car £100 Ono Sold as seen
  3. I am selling my Thunder Tiger EB4 S2 Spec: -Arrma BLX185 ESC (missing fan cover but functions perfectly) -Castle 1515 motor -JX Ecoboost servo (Lightning fast 0.08s response time) -no receiver or radio -Upgraded Big Bore shocks Comes on brand new fasttrax 'badlands style' wheels and tyres and 6 extra tyres This is by far the strongest vehicle I have ever owned in 9 years in RC it's absolutely ridiculous. It can take some real abuse especially at the speeds that this motor and ESC combo can take it to. I'm probably going to regret selling this in the future, however I'm liquidating most of my RC collection to fund my real drift car. it's not the prettiest example ever but it's well worth the money I'm asking. £150 Ono Listed on FB for £200
  4. Looking for a decent 2wd drift car in trade for my thunder Tiger EB4 S2 1/8 brushless buggy and absima ab3.4 1/10 brushless buggy. Is listed on FB Marketplace for £390 but it's £350 for forum members because there are less timewasters here 😌
  6. It's a really cheap buggy so you get what you pay for, I wouldn't say it's half bad with a few upgrades, I wouldn't say I've had my money's worth of fun just yet but I haven't had much time for actual RCing for the past year or so and the car has plenty of life left in it. So I'm sure I will get my money's worth. Parts support was decent when I last ordered a part which was near on a year ago so I don't know the state of it now.
  7. I have an absima ab3.4 with about 150 into it altogether, it's a fun buggy and definitely more durable than any ftx vehicle. Main weaknesses are the front bumper, wing mount and arms, but all can be upgraded easily. I bought the kit and out my own electronics in it. Here's a link to my thread where all the details to mine and a couple other people's builds are.

    VR Qs

I mostly play Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally. I'd say that it's definitely is immersive enough, even when running on lower graphics settings, sometimes I'll even forget I'm playing a game. It's amazing. It's really good if you wanna transfer driving skills from game to real life, that's my main reason for it as I wanna practice drifting all the time, but there's only limited drift days and I have limited funds, so if you think about it, the setup basically pays for itself in terms of not needing to spend money on track time, fuel, tyres, repairs, upgrades ect.

Something decently powerful I have a gtx1080ti Intel i5 9600k And a z390 motherboard 16gb ram That's about the minimum I'd run for VR, will cost about a grand. Can run most games in vr on medium high settings at 90fps. When not in vr it will run most games at well over 144fps besides cyberpunk which fluctuates from 40-70 but that games pretty unoptimised.

I've got the new oculus quest 2 and it's incredible. Completely changes the experience. You don't even need a pc to play be as it already has a CPU inside. If you do wanna play it on a pc for sim games ect then you need a usb type c 2.0 or above cable to plug it in. It's the best one available for the price and it's what most people are buying right now . This SIM rig is one of the reasons beside my actual car that I'm taking a break from RC lol
  11. Well since the fiesta decided to crap its pants I've decided to get something that I can use as a platform to build something cool and keep for a long time. So what better car to go for than a lovely little MX5 MK2 1.8 special edition in Mazda Racing Green Got really lucky with this one as it came with the Bilstein Sports suspension and Torsen LSD as standard, prev owner knew nothing of this yet she owned it for 18 years 🤣. Saves me from having to buy both. The frame is solid for the most part besides the rear sills being slightly rusted. However, the front and rear subframes aren't great, but that can be sorted. Got me some nice 14s for cheap aswell as a new dual exit backbox as the old one broke off. Drove it for half a week without one like a yobbo, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun while it lasted. Waiting for a new exhaust flange so I've bodged it on with some steel wire which is holding it solidly. The interior is pretty nice too with a Nardi wheel and gearknob as well as comfy but well bolstered leather back seats. Seems to be a very well specced car 👍
  12. Engine in the fiesta blew up tonight, hopefully I'll get all my money back cos it's under warranty. The serpentine belt shredded itself and I think it tangled up the timing belt.. kaboom

Gutted, i had the same with fiesta van mk4, but was a diesel, the Aux drive belt snapped and got sucked in the cam pulley, I was told them it was a common problem and that was about 15 years ago

@m4inbrain luckily that wouldn't be an issue cos I took it into the workshop to get it checked under warranty because of these issues and they said it was the AC compressor and that they'd call me to get it replaced. But they never called me back. I haven't had time to chase it up as I've been really busy with moving into a new place and working on my degree but it seems like they didn't diagnose it properly anyways.

@.AJ. I'm think that's the issue but I'm not 100% sure. I'm no mechanic and I don't wanna touch anything to investigate just cos they'll take any excuse to not have to pay out.

  13. Yeah battery is charging fine. They just all make a lot of noise, think the bearings on each of them are going bad
  14. Alternator, AC compressor, possibly the serpentine belt? Luckily it's all under a 6 month warranty so It's not a penny out if my pocket. The shop I took it to diagnosed it as just the AC compressor however.
  15. My thoughts exactly. Hoping it was just a fluke. Although there are other things going wrong with this car so I'm not certain :((
  16. Yeah the whole cluster was dead so I was trying to associate noise with RPM but it's actually very difficult. I'm definitely gonna try and learn what sound in what gear = what speed incase this happens again. I'll see if I can find why it even happened in the first place too.
  17. Yeah I was trying to figure out what rpm in what gear = what speed but I gave up because I really just didn't have any idea 😂. Haven't had the car for very long so haven't figured that all out completely yet.
  18. I absolutely agree when it comes to country roads where traffic is almost non existent and the speed limit is 60 but in a city like London where you're driving 30 on a dual carriageway, it's best to stay close to the speed limit so that you don't create either an accident or traffic. As you said, it's about adjusting your driving to the setting. But yeah I didn't slow to a crawl because there were a lot of cars about 100-200 m behind me because the traffic lights had just gone green. Honestly I thought I could manage my speed fine but as I said, I only started second guessing myself this evening. It was just such a weird situation so I didn't really know what to do, I haven't been driving for that long ( about a year and a half) so I've never had anything like this happen. In hindsight I probably would've done it a bit differently but I felt like I was driving safely in the moment.
  19. Thanks for your input mate. I would disagree with the speed limit not being a target as nowadays, you can fail your driving test if you drive too slowly as it can cause an accident. I would've pulled over if there was anywhere to actually stop but it would've been extremely unsafe to do so. So I didn't really have a choice and I had to drive without the speedometer until I could find somewhere off the dual carriageway, so hopefully they won't dash another offence at me. The weird thing about this road is that it turns into a 30 when you go onto the raised road and the Speedo stopped working just before that point so I didn't have time to react and safely pull off the A40. I almost panicked a little and so I kept driving at what I thought was a safe and acceptable speed which I'm hoping wasn't over the speed limit. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
  20. Eh it's a 2012 so I kinda doubt it. No way to check cos I removed the OBD2 fuse to help prevent theft. Thanks for the suggestion though 👍
  21. Hey all, been a while. A bit of a weird one, but I was in the fiesta and after pulling onto the A40, my instrument cluster just died out of nowhere? It was an average speed zone with not many cars on the road so I literally had no idea how fast I was going so I tried to match speed of the other cars on the road. The only problem is that the few other cars were going different speeds so I don't know if I was speeding or not. When I got to my destination I checked the fuse box and the 7.5 amp fuse for the instrument cluster was blown so I just replaced it with the heated seat relay fuse for now. Ordered a set of fuses on eBay earlier. I binned the blown fuse because I didn't think anything of it until about an hour ago. If I end up getting a ticket, is there any way I can fight it with no evidence? Or am I done for?
  22. The mad crusher is a wicked little truck, not the most durable ever but should be fine for what you want of it.
  23. Would love one of them. Always lose me screws hehe
  24. I got the kit so I can't help you with the absima electronics but any standard size servo should fit well. Don't buy a low profile servo though as you'll need to modify the mounts to fit it in.
  25. It won't like the skatepark though 😝
