  1. Yes as I've gotten older I do find working on a 1/24th scale can be frustrating at times. Haven't built one in years. I do like the larger scale models nowadays.
  2. The 2 Mercs I saw of yours were very well done. Nice attention to detail. I used to do a lot of 1/24th scale models because of the high level of detail you can put into the models. Keep doing what you're doing.
  3. Been checking out a lot of your builds, ...great job/s. ?
  4. The Talion has a wider wheel base/width so some would say it is more stable for speed runs. Personally for doing a straight run I don't see it as making much difference at all, if any. I picked the Typhon because I much preferred the look of it, it was slightly cheaper and I wanted a buggy. Good luck with your search for a decent basher @m4inbrain .
  5. What about the Arrma Talion? V4 version below but I know the V3 version is on sale now with big savings to be had (because the new ones are out). Link: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/arrma-talion-blx-6s-v4-2019-rtr/rc-car-products/440201 Caerphilly is lovely. Plenty of places to bash an R/c I'm sure but that's not my game, ...I'm purely into speed runs so look for smooth long roads. ?
  6. I love my Typhon but I use it for speed runs on road, ...if I wanted something off-road then I'd be looking at the Kraton, Notorious or Outcast. Be a hard choice as well between one of those 3. I'm in Caerphilly. ?
  7. It wasn't at all. I actually agree with most, if not all of what you have said so far. ? Civil means to be courteous and polite so reading the responses from other members and considering a broadly differing opinion the response has been civil by all imho. Nobody has been swearing at each other, hurling personal insults or otherwise so yes where I come from, Great Britain, that is a courteous & polite discussion.
  8. I've an Arrma vehicle, specifically a Typhon 6S and imho they're a very good brand. Spares haven't been an issue for me especially with so much is available on eBay. Some parts I found were harder to get than other parts, like some shock pins for example but still I did manage to get them easily enough in the end (just took a little more searching & some waiting). I'd say if you do go for an Arrma or even if you just want to learn a bit more about the Arrma vehicles sign up to the dedicated Arrma forum. ?
  9. Tbh I think you're talking rubbish as this has been a quite civil discussion between most members so no "anger management" needed as far as I can see. In fact, considering one member in a post has tarred everyone with the same brush who drives a car from a specific country (almost as good as racism that one) and another member has accused someone else of driving like a lunatic overtaking in a residential area when they don't even know that person or how they drive I'm surprised it hasn't kicked off properly.
  10. I'm not here to argue with anyone and posted the original petition to make people aware of it allowing them to make their own decision as to whether they sign it. I will say though that anyone that says they don't speed or never go over the posted speed limits imho is talking absolute rubbish to put it politely. I'll hold my hands up and admit that I speed every single day, ...but not in built up areas (20, 30mph zones) and never without my full attention to the road conditions & other road users. Personally (imho) speeding is not the problem, in fact as some people have stated at times being able to speed is necessary and people driving too slowly in a posted speed limit zone can be dangerous too. The problems as I see them on the roads is lack of attention (using mobile phones, vaping etc), situational awareness (driving too close, hogging an outside lane etc), consideration (to road conditions, weather etc), manners (indicating before maneuvering, forcing others to brake just so you can get one car ahead etc) and empathy towards other road users (letting people merge safely etc). I'd rather see harsher punishments for people speeding in residential areas with national speed limits and motorway speed limits abolished like some German autobahn roads. More money should be being put into putting more Police patrol cars/Police personal on the roads and less into speed cameras etc so that they can actual start to enforce some of the rules effectively (make judgement calls on prosecutions that only face to face interactions can). For example: giving someone (first time offender) a warning for being a few mph over the limit (not excessive speed) whilst they had a reasonable excuse like they were trying to get to a hospital for their pregnant partner ~ a speed camera would just penalise that person regardless. For example: like mobile phone laws; I see people everyday driving along with their eyes looking down at their laps because they're texting or looking at their mobile phone for some other reason. Never any Police around to stop them it seems but plenty of speed cameras around to catch people doing 4-5mph+ over the limit.
  11. Mods/Admin you can now lock, delete or remove whenever you're ready. These are now sold thank you.
  12. The quadcopter flew the same after the repairs yes. I was worried my battery door repair might have upset the weight balance of it but it didn't make any difference to it as far as I could tell when flying it. I did use a plastic car number plate screw (yellow part in pic) and rubber battery strap in my repair so the weight added was minimal.
  13. @Tug @Jumper I took your advice and got a better charger. ? I bought a Turnigy Reaktor 300W 20A balance charger, ...with that in mind I guess it's safe to say I can now charge my 6S battery (5000mAh 70C) at the maximum 1C rating then if I'm right? (5Amps) Thanks.
  14. I've copied and pasted this from another forum I'm on. Going to need a fair bit more interest before anyone takes any notice but still if you don't try....HelloSome of you might have seen this:https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47715415I would ask you all to please sign this petition below:https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/251938New vehicles from 2022 are set to have mandatory speed limiters and black boxes, if you don't want this to happen then try to act against it. It takes less than a minute to sign.
  15. Bump to the top. ? Hoping to have these sold by the weekend please.
  16. Yep Brian from what I've learnt you need 25W per cell, ...so for a 6S battery 150W minimum ideally. I've just got the Turnigy Reaktor 300W 20A AC/DC balance charger to do my 6S battery for the Typhon which is mains powered. Link: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/0620ac-eu-plug-20a-300w-synchronous-balance-charger-discharger-built-in-ac-version-2.html Obviously it depends on your friends budget.
  17. @yoodoo I'm a member on the Airgun forum UK. Link: https://www.airgunforum.co.uk/community/index.php You can join that forum for free and advertise your air rifle on there also for free. ? Just follow the for sale rules which are simple and you'll be good to go: https://www.airgunforum.co.uk/community/index.php?threads/sales-rules.239105/ Hope that helps.
  18. Part of the reason I love going to jumble sales is for interesting stuff like this that you find, ...can't believe you just left it in the loft though for so long. Good luck getting it up and running again.
  19. The V3 versions do use a "loopback" connector which is included with the Arrma vehicles as standard when new so no need to buy or make one separately. ? Yes according to everything I've read the V4's do use IC5/EC5 connectors as you say.
  20. I've no experience of wood floor racing but found a similar topic with the same question for you to read: Welcome aboard.

  22. Welcome back Steve (new myself to the forum but all the same). ☺️
  23. Welcome aboard. ☺️ As someone who has had a lot of 1/10th scale vehicles on road & off I'd honestly say try having a look at 1/8th scale as well if you've the budget for it. Depends what you're hoping to do with it obviously but I got my first 1/8th scale buggy this year and wish I'd done it years ago now.
