  1. This is the way I'd probably go if possible as sending items back of that size can be costly which most likely you'll have to fit the bill for Op. I once bought an air rifle (HW35K) from FreeAds that had only two pictures of it in the advert with a description which said it was in "excellent condition", ...what I received was a very used rifle with some rust on the barrel and a few drill holes in the stock. Not happy I contacted the seller and luckily for me he seemed like a reasonable person as he did refund me 1/5th of the price I paid which I was happy with. I then refurbed the rifle myself.
  2. Bladey hope this isn't too late but I have an un-used Typhon centre diff which AFAIK is the same as yours in the Kraton. I've just put it on eBay this afternoon and then read this. Will PM you now in case it is of interest.
  3. Dead easy. Video here... But as @PH001 states check the easy stuff first like the grub screw attaching the drive cups.
  4. Just heard some great news on Facebook that Mr Buri himself, Thomas Burger-Ringer, has kindly donated a kit to give away at the end of Round 2 of the ROSSA August event. They will hold a hat draw. The entrant fee is £10 each. Anyone who wishes to be in with the chance of winning this great prize will need to enter the raffle at the event in August so please do come along even if just to spectate. Please see this thread for info on ROSSA round 2 which will be held on the weekend of 17th-18th August. 5. What I've got for mine is a flat piece of carbon fibre from eBay. Link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Fibre-Sheet-Tiles-Plates-Rectangles-200mm-x-40mm-x-4mm-Gloss-Twill-Weave/333003336822?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 I'm just going to make some "L" shape brackets out of aluminium to go on the ends (fixed with screws/nylocks most likely or epoxy) but I need some carbon end pieces. Something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tarot-450-Parts-Carbon-Fibre-Balance-Wing-TL2331/173180747982?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140813110652%26meid%3D13348b7a8d254094b0cca86eeccbdefd%26pid%3D100275%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D333003336822%26itm%3D173180747982&_trksid=p2060778.c100275.m3474 It's okay if you don't know but let me know if Martin does fill you in with where to get some if you don't mind. Just let me know on here or FB. Thanks.
  6. That'd be great ~ I did sign up to FB as you know as well. I wanted to ask you a question: Do you remember we were talking about the rear carbon wings. You mentioned something about people using helicopter parts or something on the wings or as the wings I think. Do you have a llink by any chance to the sort of thing? I've bought a carbon fibre plate to use but need to find some carbon fibre end bits. Any help appreciated. Thanks
  7. It was nice to meet you Martin and put a face to the name. Fantastic weekends "racing" and anyone thinking of doing this should definitely come along and try it. Can't wait for August now.
  8. Okay. It is really good that "live chat" so hopefully that'll help you get a quicker resolution as well.
  9. That's a little worrying. I just checked my account and so far all okay. Hopefully it is just an isolated incident and you get it sorted smoothly & quickly. Thanks for the heads up and best of luck. 😉
  10. In what way has it been compromised? False orders made or something else weird?
  11. It could fit yes or it could go the other way and be too big as with the Nano Tech Plus I measured it was actually longer than advertised but luckily that's not an issue. Also "C" ratings you can take with a small pinch of salt as well imho. Just use them as a vague/rough guide I'd say. The Graphene definitely performs better than the Nano-Tech Plus but by how much I couldn't say. On a speed run generally my old standard Arrma ESC could handle the power from the Nano-Tech Plus without an issue but the Graphene Panther seemed to cause it an issue under hard acceleration. Again though speed running is completely different to just bashing round so the heavy duty batteries you linked I'm sure would be more than good enough for what you want to do with your Kraton.
  12. Worth noting that you have to take the sizes advertised with a pinch of salt. They're not accurate and neither are the weights. For example: I've just roughly measured my 6S Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus 5000mAh at 153x48x53mm weighing 800g odd. Advertised dimensions are 135x49x54.2mm weighing in at 838.86g. My 6S Turnigy Graphene Panther 5000mAh measured 145x50x60mm weighing 860g odd. Advertised dimensions are 145x51x61mm weighing in at 920g. I've modified my battery tray on my Typhon as well as raised my body post mounts in order to accommodate my Graphene Panther 5000mAh battery. I don't bash as I just do speed runs with my Typhon so it is all part of the process. Just something to consider as if you're happy with the Nano Tech Plus then it maybe worth sticking to them for bashing with.
  13. @Bladey I've got one of those Nano-Tech Plus 6S batteries myself and they're very good indeed. Regarding the charger as said really you want at least 25W per cell, ...so for 6S you really need a charger of 150W or more to charge at the recommended 1C (5amp) rate. I actually had the same battery charger as you (Overlander RC6-VSR from Modelsport UK) for a month or so but it took so long to charge 6S batteries (it was ridiculous) and one time when I had to discharge an almost full 6S pack it took hours and hours and hours!! So I did the sensible thing and sold it on eBay (think I got £30 for it in the end). Thread here with lots of good info in it for you when I asked at the time: I now use a 300W 20A Turnigy Reaktor charger which is fantastic. I definitely recommend you change your charger @Bladey .
  14. Cheers. I don't use any of those. I use Hobbyking mainly and their service is fantastic.
  15. I guess it might depend on how thick the polycarbonate/lexan body shell is from the manufacturer. An Arrma Typhon clear body shell that I recently purchased was quite thick tbh whereas I have had ones in the past which were much more flimsy from other manufacturers. I much prefer clear windows too. Nice seeing the electronics I think or driver if you go for added details like that.
  16. That's good and I'm glad about that. AFAIK polycarbonate is the generic term for the clear shells. Lexan is just another "trade" name for essentially the same thing although some do say it is the best but I've not seen any comparisons anywhere as a manufacturer either terms their clear shells as polycarbonate or Lexan. Again AFAIK. I wouldn't say it was necessarily flimsy or that it cracks easily but more prone to damage than ABS hard shells or similar yes.
  17. Welcome aboard. Few here: https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/c/101/ Including a clear body shell here: https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/297271/ I'd just double check the scale is correct before I purchased.
  18. Is he/she a member? eBay seller or other? You might want to elaborate a bit more if you want an answer to has anyone else bought from this person/seller.
  19. Thank you Martin. I did notice a post on the ROSSA Facebook page (although I am not on Facebook) about needing the BRCA membership for insurance so I've already got that sorted. Got my card. I've got Martin's number so could give him a ring when I get to the gate if I can't see anyone coming to let me in. No problem with anyone checking out my R/c (safety first of course). I'll try to get there as early as I can but my Mrs isn't as keen as me for some reason. Hope to meet you soon then.
  20. That's cool and thank you for the info. I'm travelling up with my Mrs so we might aim to get there around 10-10:30 or thereabouts just to give you all time to get sorted as well as because we will be having an early start to drive up. Really excited to see what everyone else is running. I've already made one good friend (Martin) who's been helping me out already with tips and help so be nice to hopefully meet a few other like minded individuals. Will there be any signs BTW pointing at the entrance into the runway? And what is the protocol? ...like park up in a certain area? Come sign in or register with someone?
  21. That's okay I know not everybody has time to be on forums everyday. I decided to buy a tent and blow up mattress so looks like I'm camping too. Booked in with Shell Island for the Saturday night, ...is that where you are? I'm really excited. 😁 Any tips? What time are you starting on Saturday? (so I can plan how early to leave) Are there toilets at Shell Island or should I bring a spade?! Ha ha.
  22. Yep it's ridiculous I know. The letter "r" looks more like a "y". 😒 Give me "Times New Roman" font any day.
  23. Something to help the Typhon go that little bit faster. A Castle Creations Mamba Monster 2 ESC. 😎
  24. No sorry what they've released so far is two new versions of current models, the Kraton and Notorious. Plus the Limitless and Infraction which are brand new models and a post earlier in the year that I saw on the Arrma forum said four brand new models are apparently to be released this year. So two down and two to go. Maybe I'm wrong and it's not true but let's hope so as there maybe something new from Arrma then for the bashers and offroaders. Below is the post that was leaked on Facebook earlier this year ~ possibly by Arrma themselves as a teaser/hype post.
  25. Yes as you've already mentioned more than once. As for an X-Maxx competitor just wait and see what else they're releasing this year. From what I've heard Arrma have 4 brand new vehicles to release this year, ...they've already done the Infraction and Limitless so two more to go. You might well get your large scale off roader and maybe a rock crawler or something else. Re: the price. Well, while it (the Limitless) most definitely isn't cheap I do think it is reasonable considering. Time will tell though whether it sells well but personally I think it will.
