  1. That cage looks awesome dude!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  2. Your shell is lexan!! It's quite thin an flexible where as hard body shells are made from different material an are very rigid!! With your lexan shell you will need to give the shell a key for paint to stick or it will all come off!! Scotch bright the stuff that's stuck to sponge that you do the washing up with!!work well or some real fine wet an dry sandpaper!! Don't go to mad you just need to polish the shine off the plastic an then wash well an then thin coats of paint better to spray it a few times with a little than hammer it on thick an get load of runs!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  3. The parts you have done are looking good dude!! Have looked into a printer before but there are just so many I wouldn't know we're to start!! An that's before I even worry bout a computer an programmes!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  4. I started out with a tamiya lunchbox an then got the bug!! I love the build process just as much as running the trucks!! An I also understand how they work so can help fix stuff when broke!! The scout I brought as fancied trying the crawling!! But I just wAsnt that keen!! So I scratch built a pick up truck!! An I enjoyed it!! So stripped electrical parts axles an started building another one just this will be a unimog!!!! The chassis I have made will get changed for some thing more scale looking as just want front cab an cage on rear!! Hope your new servo works ok an you can get out an have a play!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk

  7. My scout electricals are water proof but mine is old one!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  8. Yea I know I was looking for beadlock wheels for my truck an there were thousands on eBay!! In end I just found a cheap set from China an went with them!! Tyres I can imagine are worse!! All can suggest is measure how tall your tyres are an have a search on eBay!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  9. Dude don't worry bout paint will be fine!! But if you do run out again euro car parts sell tamiya paints an can click an collect following day!! Your little defender looks pretty cool!! I was tempted by the cco1 just before Xmas cause of all the hop ups available!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  10. I have one!! It's in bits at minute being converted into a more scale looking truck!! I didn't really get along with it in stock form so decided to use axles etc to make a more scale crawler!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  11. That looks awesome dude love how you split colours up!! !!! It's quite small next to your trx4 Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  12. I find Putting something coloured inside helps!! coloured plastic bags work well then draw cut lines with a fine line black marker pen!! I did a Mustang shell ages ago an had to cut half rear molding away an then reattach !! Something to do with tooling a lexan body!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  13. Wow some awesome work there!! Loving pick up version makes me want to by new shell for my hobao dc1 an do same thing!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  14. Also before you could go round all your cut lines with a fine line marker! It makes it easier to see were your cutting!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  15. I know some tamiya kits come with some certain hop ups so good call on checking!! The hobao kit I got for Xmas I just got a cheap 3 CHL steering wheel control!! I just made sure it did what I needed!! Go with it dude! If it don't work how you want you can just buy yourself something different!! I would definitely recommend a madbull though I run that with hobbywing esc an hpi firebolt 15t motor an it's plenty fast enough for me even on grass an has taken a proper beating an I haven't broke anything yet!! But if you want impact go for it an buy what you want!! My first car was a lunchbox an my mate laughed as it wobbled all over place but it was what I wanted an it's still my go to car when go out with boy cause he loves it popping wheelies!! All I can say dude is buy what you want!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  16. As per your question!! I can't comment on absima stuff as never used it!! All my tamiya cars are running on Carson reflex twin stick controller!! My 1st car was lunchbox an I brought it as part of a bundle an this was controller that came with it!! And as I had no problems with it I brought same for all my other cars!! Hobby wing esc I can recommend though as have 3 of these an have no problems what so ever!! Something you did miss off your list if you do get a tamiya is a bearing set?? As stock they come with plastic bushings an there rubbish! Bearings allow every to move so much better!! I would 100% recommend!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  17. There are miserable gits every where mate I try to avoid them in life lol anyway hello from me!! From my experience I haven't had many problems getting help but need to find write places to ask questions!! There is a specific tamiya page on msuk! An the lads on there helped me a lot!! But I have also looked on Facebook for tamiya an get help on there too!! I have limited experience but I will help you if I can!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  18. Yea it's not great!! It's a amazing little truck on hard surfaces or even loose gravel!! It will be fine on grass don't get me wrong it's just there isn't much space underneath !! It depends on what your wanting to do with your rig!! I'm no expert been tinkering for bout 2 an half years!! I remember thinking my mate was big kid!! I now have a lunch box, madbull, wild one, a vw amarok all tamiyas also a tgr10 which was nitro but I converted to electric!! a maverick scout an for Xmas I now have a habao dc1 crawler I'm no expert an I still learn stuff everyday!! But if I can help I will!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
