  1. Just open a case to say item never arrived or was damaged on arrival Maybe devious but if the seller doesn't want to play ball cause them some grief.
  2. Where part of the car are you using it on though?
  3. Only ran the 5ive twice so far and I have spent quite a lot on it but when it is going well it is a great car. Handles pretty well for it's size, flies quite well and seems to be pretty tough, had a few end over end rolls and it always landed back on it's wheels and in one piece. Also maybe cause it is so big when it did cartwheel end over end it didn't make me wince like the 8ight T used to
  4. My current "on-off" "partner" sent me this the other day. Still quite a decent advert if nothing else
  5. Simple answer.no Whilst the ESC is 2-4 compatible you wont be going anywhere on 2S,3S is the minimum battery size/voltage you would get away with in a 450 size quadcopter.
  6. Well the mesh didn't quite work as planned I attached it to the cage as you would but what I had failed to take into account is the cage moves in the event of a crash/rollover so in fact it basically got ripped to shreds at the mounting points so I have now taken it off. I think I will just buy an Outerwears cover eventually rather than try and come up with my own solution again
  7. Tried a mesh mod of my own design There is quite a big gap in the front of the 5ive that seems to let quite a bit of stuff in from what I have seen. I got some of the aluminium mesh from Halfords and have done this which has closed the gap up quite nicely. No idea if it will actually work or not though. Also had the stiffer front springs arrive today that are mych better than the slightly saggy stock ones
  8. The paint can still come off, just remember that,no matter how well it is applied. If the body suffers a serious impact that bends it to extremes or puts a lot of pressure on one area/section the paint may come off.
  9. Would have been done from the underside/inside as well. The idea with painting underneath is that it protects the paint work from damage. There is a degree of flexibility in the paint itself but it isn't immune from damage by any means even with it being on the inside.
  10. I did think about the orange but the usual choice appears to be the red. I got the DDM ones though rather than the Losi version as they were cheaper and I think they are a little firmer than the Losi reds.
  11. Could really make use of the £s to be honest BUT I did spend them on this in the first place and I will never get back what has been spent so I may as well use it Front end is a bit to saggy for my liking,I put the stock 40wt oil in and not going to change that yet so whilst not the cheaper option I will just put the stiffer springs on instead. The rear came with stiffer springs when I got it although not sure what make they are as they aren't Losi ones for sure.
  12. Ordered some stiffer springs for the front end as it was way to soft in stock form. Hopefully they are actually in stock and they will arrive before Sunday, looking forward to a second run with it now
  13. Sticking with the cast stock clutch housing for now then?
  14. I was thinking of the MMR in Birmingham Those drive cups are pretty dam worn, mine where nothing like that but I replaced them all anyway. I sold the old ones even though there were a little rusty and pitted and got half the price for the set of 6 used ones that the new ones cost me so wasn't too bad I figured why not just do it to save me the potential hassle of having to do them later.
  15. Fully fitted the exhaust to the Losi 5ive and gave it it's first very successful run,yay
  16. Just don't buy one from MMR even if they show stock as they probably don't have it
  17. Only "issue" is stronger front springs are needed. Even with the adjusters wound over half way down the stock front ones are way too soft. I thought I had broke a front shock shaft somehow but the bottom spring mount had popped off making the spring end up at a crazy bendy angle but the shaft isn't bent. Few bits of sheep pooh here and there but nothing else Wheels/tyres look very unbalanced to me though,we will see. Naff bit of video for now that doesn't show anything in particular other than that it moves
  18. In the time it had taken to do I doubted whether or not I would keep it but a quick flawless run this afternoon changed all that Really pleased that it all worked perfectly seeing as it has been totally in rebuilt from the ground up and that I haven't got that much experience of RC cars and non at all of petrol cars. Petrol is so much easier than nitro, next to no fiddling needed with the engine,I did a little bit of tuning but I think there is so much more there to give once I have a couple more runs under my belt. Only did 500ml of fuel as it is borderline with it raining and didn't want to take it home and into the house with petrol still in it. The one allen bolt was hard to get at as the shape of manifold makes access a bit tricky,in the end I just cut an old allen key right down,I cut the bent section in half and was able to get in there with it and do the bolt up easily
  19. Been using the phone to keep track of things and found out something very surprising. I average about 28,000 steps at work which apparently is about 20-22km a day! Almost seems a bit pointless doing the walking bit but I am going to keep it up,I certainly do feel a little bit out of breath though after doing just under 3km which takes me about 28 minutes at a brisk walk. Had to stop at one point today as I was going too mad at it and my shins were hurting, stopped for a minute and all was okay again.
  20. One of the manifold bolts is very awkward to get at,will need to get a ball hex to tigthen it up with. Just need to decide if I am going to keep now or sell it before it gets too much use.
  21. Buy you own bit of land, problem solved,it's not like he/they just built a track on a scrap bit of land and no one said anything
  22. Depends on how much it is Are you building it or just buying it complete? Building is really the best way to go so you can understand these things. Chances are you will at least need to calibrate/set up the flight controller yourself. Do you really want a 250 size one,I have seen a few and they look very fiddly and overloaded with stuff for the size of them. I would look elsewhere for something a bit slicker like the Align MR25 or Skyhero Anakin Club racer if you still want a small size. Not that cheap but look much better to me and less "messy" but at a price! http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/align_mr25_racing_quad_combo_rm42501xt-p-34256.html http://www.kooltoyz.co.uk/sky-hero-anakin-club-racer-rtf-6.html
  23. Yeah but I dunped the excess packaging at work
  24. Just the regular version not the G320 one.
  25. Got this this lunchtime, just before it started to rain
