  1. I know but currently they are only supplying existing pre-orders in the US,I have asked. They did say they would help with me getting one into the UK as and when the pre-orders were fulfilled but they currently have no plans to make them widely available in the UK.
  2. I have to admit I saw that and thought it was a very small motor for a car that big but what do I know.
  3. Is there a boat there, cant see anything just some splashing
  4. I was in the same boat as you (pun very much intended) and I looked at this more than once. http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/245209/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwxLC9BRDb1dP8o7Op68IBEiQAwWggQHjnDbm9-QIuZ0P5O84-iFI3p1r54QdDA9AwauaVA64aAvqz8P8HAQ But never bought one, seems to be quite regarded when you look online, nothing really bad said about it and it is quite big so you get quite a bit for your money although it is over your budget.

  6. Slightly off topic but I saw somewhere once about a Kraken Baja. A RTR Baja with the Kraken cage/body already on it,did that ever happen?
  7. Only "problem" I had with FP was them showing stock that it turned out they never had. Happened quite a few times when I was rebuilding my 5ive.
  8. Might be worth getting more than 2 gudgeon clips as well. One pings out somewhere and you will on the floor trying to find it,just a though for an extra 75p.
  9. I wouldn't get too hung up on the whole waterproof thing. Just don't go driving through standing water is the simplest answer. Even wet grass might be a problem if the electrics start to get wet but they do dry out again. You have to ask yourself would you be that happy standing in the pouring rain running a toy car,if the answer is no then don't worry about waterproofing too much, just do like I said which is avoid standing water. Whatever you do make sure you buy something you can get spares for, people here have bought cars and then not been able to easily get spares,it might limit your choice a bit but sticking to one of the major brands such as Tamiya might help in that respect. Fun is the thing to bear in mind, you can have as much fun with a £100 car as you can with a £400 one and the £100 one is probably going to be cheaper to fix as long as you can find the spares.
  10. The lipo you have chosen is only slightly longer,2mm longer in fact, than the NIMH battery that comes as part of the package deal for that car so it should fit okay,it just depends if there is 2mm spare space in the battery compartment or whether or not the battery compartment is only 135mm long as opposed to the 137mm long the battery is. The width and height aren't a problem by the look of it.
  11. You just need to take into account that Tamiya models in general wont handle a very powerful brushless system. You would need to consider changing the ESC (speed controller) and motor as they are both brushed types at the moment. The lipo battery you have chosen might also not fit in the car,not sure what size battery is the maximum size for the buggy you have chosen so you might need to check. Also the battery has no connector on it so you will need to either solder one on yourself or have Modelsport do it which costs extra, maybe you have chosen that option and it just isn't showing in the picture you put up? In a brushless set up I have got 20-30 mins out of a similar sized battery before,in a brushed set up you could find it running for anything up to 40-60 mins
  12. How much is it all in total? Only ask cause it might almost be cheaper to buy something ready to run,I appreciate you might want to built it but just a thought. Also that set up is based around a brushed motor set up,brushless is considered more the "norm" these days and again like I said you might be able to buy a ready to run brushless set up for similar money.
  13. Pretty much all basic 2 stroke RC engines work the same way so everything that is in this series of videos can equally apply to the 26cc version as well. You may as well replace the bearings and seals whilst it is open, would almost be silly not to
  14. Had another problem when I ran it yesterday afternoon as well. Ended up snapping off the air filter,or so I thought. One to many rolls/crashes and I looked inside the car to see half the air filter assembly with the Outerwears on rattling around loose inside. At first glance I though it was completely broke but turns out it has just "popped" off as it is in two halves and the clips holing both halves together had just come undone. Couple of minutes and it was back together. The air filter assembly is very close to the side of the body shell though which is why I think it came off after one too many rolls
  15. Wouldn't spend money on the tool to be honest. How many times will you realistically use it? Quick and dirty method
  16. Couldnt do that,I know I couldn't,wouldn't even want to try. The whole me smoking thing is cause of my given situation at the moment, when my partner comes back we need to talk about some fairly serious stuff, once that is done we can hopefully either move on or go our own ways and try to just remain friends, which I know I won't find easy to do but will try my best. Hopefully the smoking will stop for me then. This topic has taken a strange turn hasn't it
  17. The Duratrax ones look good value to me,if that counts for anything
  18. Hoping it is only short term till my on/off partner is back from holiday although I know she is smoking at the moment as well but her excuse is it about 1/4 the price for 20 compared to over here and she says she will stop when she gets back Well, once she gets back and smokes all her duty free
  19. That's the eventual plan when I have a few more £s to spare. Started smoking again at the moment and that is costing me £30-£40 a week I don't really have
  20. Still trying to sort out a better filming solution but tried mounting my phone to the transmitter that didn't really work that well I kept knocking the kill switch on as I had to hold it at a funny angle to get out of the phones view. However at one point I almost got clobbered by 17kg+ of Losi 5ive,despite what it looks like it passed very close to me
  21. If it were my money I would buy better than a Marder from the outset. They seem a very old/outdated design to me but I suppose if it works you don't fix it? The Baja has been around for a while but they have updated it in that time, the Marder to me looks like same as it did when it was first released however long ago that was

I wouldn't have posted it if it had, plus it would have made me pass out if it did
  23. Still liking the 5ive,good run today with just a self induced mishap, was going just fine till I hit a large protruding manhole cover, ouch!
  24. Went out again early this morning and had a pretty good run 5ive ran really well and didn't miss a beat,it took a bit of a beating this time and survived numerous rolls and crashes without any major damage. I did hit a protruding manhole cover at one point pretty hard, the Losi 8ights would have snapped an arm if I had done the same to them, this took it fine although it did knock a sizable chunk out of one of the front suspension arms. Had a problem with the one disc jamming on as well. I did think that one of the springs I had put on the pads had broken and got jammed inside it,I took the diff out though and whilst the spring was broken that wasn't the problem. It seems like the impact from the manhole cover was enough to make the one centre diff mount move (the side without the Bartolone brace on) and the diff including the bearing had come out of the one side of the centre diff mount and was causing it to bind up. Might look at getting some alloy pieces for the centre diff mounts. Bit of a concern but it was a heavy impact and I can see how it could have caused the problem.
