And people say nitro is a faff ! I was considering buying a brushless next but with my shifts and family life no way I could find the time to charge, bash, storage charge. I will stick to grab fuel, tool kit, car, bash.
Thanks for the heads up Mike. I had hoped that I would get some honest feed back from bullet owners but sadly it seems not. Too much money to take a blind gamble. Looks like Im back to the drawing board.
Looks like you have pulled the starter too far. A common mistake with newbies. Check the thread on here for advice on how to repair it. Unless you are mechanically skilled or knowledgeable about nitro engines I would not advise fitting a roto start style kit as you could easily damage your motor either by fitting in incorrectly or trying to turn a flooded engine.
last post 7th of september Im affraid and I have already waded through most of that. Its nitro and the revised model I want opions on hence the post here not general. Thanks for the link though.
With Christmas just around the corner its time to try and find a present for the Mrs. She wants a nitro so she can come bash with us. Guy local to us has a bulk order in for the new hpi bullet and is doing good deals on them. I like the look of the st version and think it should cope with ground the revo runs on with ease. Anyone got one of these ? Honest opions on them before I commit to buying one.
High flow filters are really only any good for fuel injected engines. As Nitroholic says the basic csrb set up on a nitro engine will not work well with this type of filter. I used to run K&N on my old carb Novas and they ran like total turds on all but flat out throttle. Swap to standard filter, factory needles and re tune before you destroy your engine.
Still sounds like an air leak. If you have decided nitro is not for you fair enough. Shame though because they are great when they run well and the constant tinkering is what most of us enjoy. Like I say each to their own and fair play to you for trying.
Anything subject to vibration. Locktite is only needed on screws into metal. Make sure to use medium strength otherwise you will be in all sorts of trouble when or if you need the screws out.
Hi Dave. You have come to the right place. Loads of good guys on here with plenty of good advice. Check out the rock crawler section, not my scene but sure there isa yorkshire group on there.
Which ever you choose make sure you have extra money in the kitty. I speak from experience. Lol. You say 300 is your max, allow for a good glow starter and fuel plus the usual consumables like glow plugs and oils. I set my limit at 250 and ended up spending about 310 all in.
Got a couple of good bashing spots local. Behind industrial estates so no one cares, just get the odd bloke watching as they have a smoke break. A few lads from work wanted to go out but they dont want to go bashing, think they are scared of the revo. Lol.
Im would prefer nitro due to the fact my area to run is a short walk from home and think that nitro will give me the best run time out on the screens. All my previous experience is with nitro and the only time I used a brushed electric I was very disappointed with the run time. This was a few years ago and I know technology has improved since then. What sort of run times can you expect from brushed rc now ?
Im looking for something that will take a little rough ground as the area I have to run on is old coal screens with some tarmac roads and flat loose gravel. I like the idea of a buggy or truck. Thanks for all the replies.
Hi all. I am looking to getting into the nitro rc scene. I did have a little dabble many years ago but family took priority. I have been looking at the Acme condor pro kit, I have read many mixed reviews and thought I would ask for advice from people with nitro experiance. I am a qualified hgv mechanic so I know my way around tools and control systems. I dont want to spend a fortune on a big brand model and decide its not for me but also I dont want to waste money on frustrating piece of junk. Any advice is gratefully received.
