  1. Hi, I have decided that as I have more ESC's than cars I'm going to to sell my LRP iX8. Its in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures and is fully working. It has only had 2 sets of battery's worth of run time. It is 6s capable although I only ran it on 4s in my S-workz race buggy. All the connections are pluggable which is very nice for maintenance/cleaning. Something else worth noting with this ESC is that it MUST be run sensored. To this end you will need a sensored can and sensor cable to make it work. The motor and battery wires have been fitted with 4mm male bullets. You can find the details on it here: https://www.lrp.cc/en/products/electronic-speed-controls/competition/brushless/produkt/ix8-brushless-regler/details/ I am not keen on switches on ESC's as in my experience they tend to be unreliable, for this reason I have removed the switch and soldered the wires together. If you wanted to you could plug in another switch very easily. There are some minor marks on the bottom of the ESC from where is was mounted on my buggy, although these are not at all visible when fitted. These are about
  2. One of the hobbyking 1900kv/120a esc combos on 4s would be a good place to start. You would also be better off using a centre differential, this will place much less strain on the drive train. This would make sure your truck can handle 4s before you throw 6 at it (walk before you can run and all that ). You would be surprised at how quick a half decent 4s setup is. Perhaps some of the hyper 7 motor mounts, diff mounts etc will fit?.
  3. The question is how much are you willing to spend?
  4. The 12v socket you are going to plug your inverter into will be able to supply your charger with 12v no?
  5. I have an Orion touch duo 2x100w charger and its excellent. The menu's are very easy to navigate, it looks awesome and its pretty damn powerful. I only use 2s packs in my S-workz and it can charge 2 at once at 10 amps each. Its nice and compact and pretty light weight. Its not cheap at around
  6. Expect to break something with those wheels on haha. Mine broke some component or other more or less every time I used it, and that was with the stock wheels and only running 2s.
  7. Buy cheap buy twice as the old saying goes. I have owned quite a few Spektrum radios and currently have a Sanwa MT4-S. I can assure you that the Sanwa not only feels much better made but also has much lower response times. This has the effect of making you feel much more "connected" to the car. The Sanwa works out more expensive but in my experience is a much better radio. The MT4-S also has a backlit screen and the Sanwa's menu's are also much easier to navigate than the Spektrum system, this is owing to the fact that the Sanwa has a hardware back button instead of the stupid menu option to go back on the Spektrum. Don't get me wrong, the Spektrum is still a good radio, and far better than most of the other cheap crap that's around, but the Sanwa is another step above the Spektrum in my opinion.
  8. The Sanwa is a better radio but the Spektrum has cheaper receivers.
  9. This looks awesome. Might have to dust off the savage. We have a few 1/10 buggy's that run that get round fine .
  10. About a second. I'm looking forward to racing tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't rain to much. :/
  11. I'm in leicestershire. the track is just off junction 26 of the M1 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/NDOR+(Notts+and+Derby+off+road+model+race+track)/@53.002327,-1.295335,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x4879eb7bc146e81d:0xfad0cdbc178ae590
  12. Hi, we are having our final winter series race meeting this weekend, its mainly 1/8 scale buggy's and truggy's that run but we are wanting more short courses to come and use the track. We so far have 3 short course drivers booked in for sunday. It would be awesome to get a full heat running. Our track is very well suited to short course and we already have a few that run. If you have never raced before then you can still come and have a go as you don't need a BRCA license for your first 3 races, you are covered by the clubs license. The track is open for practice/bashing every weekend (Sat and Sunday unless we are racing). We also have an excellent canteen and proper flushing toilets as well as a covered rostrum, compressor, engine heater and mains power for everyone to use. Sorry they are buggy's but here are a couple of videos of the track.
  13. Don't worry to much about whether things are water proof or not. As has been mentioned, it is relatively easy to waterproof stuff anyway.
  14. I'm biased but in my opinion the best 8th scale electric is the S-workz. I leave pretty much everything in my wake with mine(nitro or electric).
  15. Just a quick video from the practice/bash session at NDOR today.
  16. I have a spare fan now. Next time you are at NDOR I'll sort you one out.
  17. I bought 2 of those 7.5 ultimates a couple of weeks ago, so far they have been excellent. They made their full sticker rated capacity on the first cycle and seem to be performing very well so far. I also have 6 of the 5.6 nanotech packs that are my most frequently used battery's, they have performed very well over the winter so I have no reason to doubt the ultimates will also be very good. Something else worth noting if you use bullets for your battery wiring is that these battery's use a 5mm bullet connection. Fortunately they also come with 4 to 5 mm adapters so you can still use your original wiring.
  18. Yep, then its the first round of the NRS the following week. Should be a good couple of weeks racing.
