  1. cheers for the reply, where best to order it from?
  2. So i have picked up an old Hyper 8 that im putting together for my boy to take out with me. asking about for any spare parts a buddy of mine gave me a box of old nitro goodies, contained in the box i was surprised to discover the below engine: it appears to be the Axial .32, firstly i realise its a couple of years old, but does anyone have any experience with this engine, reviews opinions? This one is brand new and unused. I looking to put this in my Hyper and move the macstar into my project Hyper 8, any recomendations regarding this engine? ideal or suggested flywheel, clutch and bell configuration to use and to match it up with one of the Jammin series pipes. all help and advise greatly recieved.
  3. Have you checked the idle gap? my Hyper out of the box was practically closed and caused similar issues adjusted 1.5mm as recommended which cured the issue for me. Could it be running too rich and flooding?
  4. cheers ill take a look into all of the above, thinking about it i was mostly sticking with the same circuit over and over so what you mentioned would make a lot of sence. Ill get a set of the road tyres ordered up anyway as ill mostly be using it on there untill the weather improves, thanks again for your help.
  5. sorry if the advise i provided did'nt help and caused more confusion, as mentioned the devices do differ and probably best to identify the device you have in order to seek more appropriate guidance.
  6. Cheers guys sounds like just what i need, I shredded my standard tyres fairly quick but figured it would happen. The inside edge wore away quicker on the offside front tyre, similar to bad tracking on a normal motor is that easy adjust out, im guessing the adjustable connected to the upright will take the adjustments im looking for?
  7. Have you set the fail safe up? last one i installed needed to be configured, something like tx & rx on, apply full break and while doing so press and hold the pin switch to set the failsafe holding it down it should flash to indicate that it has been set. to test that it has worked after seeing an indication like mentioned above turn off the tx, the brake should be applied as expected. hope this helps
  8. Finally began the turning my Hyper this weekend seems to be going really well and the performance increase gained better than i had expected. however with one slight complication, the stock tyres that came with the car are loosing tread rather rapidly. I wondered if anyone could advise what type of tyre i would be best off equiping?
  9. if its stalling when the brakes applied then the throttle gap 1 - 1.5mm open, however reading through the thread it appears that the gap is set right. ditch the 4x aa batteries in favor of the hump pack, i swapped mine out on my Hyper lasts a lot longer and i found that the servos appear more responsive. stick with it its a pain in the ass initially, especially when your new to it, like myself have only been running my Hyper since Sept 2013, but the crapy weather and family life have mostly gotten in the way untill recently. took me ages to get mine to idol properly just about done with the run-ins hopefully this weekend ill make a start on tuning.
  10. Same car same issue broke mine not long after having it, snapped the spring replaced the unit with a new one and have since repaired the broken one and keep it as a spare until next time. being a little too eager can be the cause of many broken pull starts so im told, that said having replaced and repaired one already i do tend to be more careful with them now
  11. Pretty much yeah, cut the cable tie, take the air filter pipe off of the top of the carb and check the idle gap, also a good time to check fully open , fully closed trim settings i know it helped me with my Hyper 7 setup recently. when finished reconnect the pipe to the carb and replace the cable tie, initially i didnt fully tighten the tie, allowing me to remove the filter again while i got the idle issues sorted.
  12. New spare on order, as suggested i have managed to rebuild the damaged one that springs a pain in the ass to get back into the housing thanks for all the help guys, i will look at the start box option when the cars a little older and used as read about potential damage caused to the engine from starter box in another thread.
