  1. Thought ill give you some updates, not much has happen on the car as ive been occupied with other things but I did finally get rid of all of that underseal in the boot and have gave half of it a new lick of paint Also some one I know is coming to have a look and see what he can do with the paint work where it has gone off with the rust underneath, areas are both rear pillars, right rear wheel arch lip, bottoms of both front doors and quarter panels and below the rear bumper. Hope I can do the prep work to save some cash but he will have to do the painting. Also got some nice rally mirrors as well, Ive ditched the old brown vinyl center console along with the two right hand stalks on the steering column for a sexy new gp4 rally escort center console and lots of switches to go with it.

dont worry mate i dont sit in the dark looking at a bright screen i have all the lights on in the room to equal it all out

  6. looks a beast, not the dogs lol
  7. correction brake not break but i dont have any IPA in the garage and the brake cleaner works fine once you have scraped the top coat of and heated it. its mainly because the underseal is about 3-4mm thick.
  8. Thats the reflection from the roof of the garage mate its an un-painted fiberglass one so it lets more light in Yer been using brake cleaner scraper blue rags and a hot air gun it takes time but is coming off. The part im dreading is the engine bay but it may be easier as there are less angels and tight spots compared to the boot
  9. yer defo cant wait to see it in the flesh
  10. what is his maximum price to spend?
  11. Got me new rear L/H light today no point fitting it as im going to rewire the car once ive painted it, also made more slow progress with the underseal its the worst job that ive done to it yet so labor intensive and tedious. Old is at the bottom and new at the top if you cant tell, the part is a copy but good quality removed most of the underseal from the left hand side. Also this is the rust I uncovered from under the tank there are some bigger holes where the bottom of the tank mounts but a bit of steel and a welder should do the job. Last of all the little 1300 lump in the front its not looking too good same for all the underseal in the engine bay but ill remove her heart at some point and get a nice clean respray matching the rest of the car for the bay and paint the lump up black with lots of chrome bits, blue hoses and a K&N filter. For a laugh I was sizing up a race engine we have out of a lotus cortina, its a 1558cc crossflow twin cam putting out 173hp at 8000rpm, it would actually fit but its not our engine and costs about five times more than my whole car, it was
  12. anyone got any better ways for remving underseal ive been using a hot air gun brake cleaner scraper and blue towel?

  16. Owner was a 6.4" tattoo artist He licked the drift car design so tried to replicate it and plus the 1.3 escorts dont have a rev counter but ill take that stupid one of and get a normal one to fit in the dash also ill make a better layout for switches and things than the normal ones plus may put a push starter button always wanted one lol

  18. Hi all just wanted to show my project that will be for the next 9 months as I am only 16 and that is when D-day is. She is a 1980 ford escort mk2 4 door 1300 crossflow which was one of the very last mk2's as it was registered in Febuary 1981 after they stopped production in August 1980. The car has had three owners before me, first an old lady bought it from new and then sold it on to another person, the guy I purchased it from had known the car for 15 years but had only had it for 2 and a bit before selling it to me. As of the moment I have not done any work to the car apart from washing it and then starting to strip it down for a new interior. It had been re-sprayed blue with rainbow flake in the clear coat and had lots of other aftermarket parts. My intentions are to clean the car up and make it show worthy taking it back to an original spec but adding my own little touches to it. Here are the pics so far: In the garage after collecting her and then giving her a nice clean. The internal strip down. I am going to try to paint the door cards with some black vinyl paint as the paint theme will be the blue body and black trim where suits. Fuel tank removed so that I can remove all the underseal in the boot and check for rust spots. Removed over 2/3 of the underseal but its tacking time. note: Need to adjust boot spring so that stupid bit of wood is not needed lol Over the next week ill remove the rest of the underseal in the boot and start prepping the main floor pan as Im going to tidy it up a bit with some grey paint. Also have a L/H rear light on order as the old one was shot. Im hoping once I have a bit of wonga ill be able to buy some nice black carpet and get shaunm to trim it up for me with some nice blue stitch. Ill be updating this thread as regularly as possible hope you enjoy
  19. fuel tank removed and the rust appears so much that a small section of the right hand rear wheel arch disappeared lol some patch work will be needed.

Its ok ive taken away about 2/3 of the stuff and there is no sign of rust only body rust my car has is bottoms of doors luckily i can prep that and someone i know can paint it for me, also thanks to shaunm sometime in the futur he will be working on a custom carpet for the car as the original one is shot

  21. ide love an RS, this has a rs rear spoiler but its not rubber and has been blended into the boot but needs redoing as there are cracks in the fiber glass. I probably will put a 1.6 or 1.8 in the futur, possibly a cosworth twin cam or the warrior twin cam 2L engine. One thing Shaun as you are a trimmer do you know where I could get some decent black carpet for the whole car and also where I could get the door cards redone in black?
  22. came with that plate i think its good and my last name begins with w so even better ill keep it mostly original apart from a few things but shes got alot of work need doing to her the car i mean lol
