  1. Yeah, that isn't right surely. Looking at the 1st photo, is that with the throttle closed? if so, I would have thought the 90 degree arm you have needs to be another 45 degrees anticlockwise, so it is parallel with the carb. Looks wrong as you like.
  2. Up close and personal!!! A couple of shots taken from a Faux pro on my mates 2wd MT. the Monster beetle is mine
  3. It's 1/8th scale, 5Kg in weight, a 2300kv motor and on 2-4s, so yeah, sounds near the mark to me. If one were to put a 2000kv in it and run 8000mah packs, it would be longer, but then people may moan it "only" has a 2000kv plant in it.
  4. Yes, the original USA 1 Nitro crusher was a Burns rally/x chassis with montyzooma wheels n tyres bolted on and was a bit of a beast by all accounts. I dont know alot about the old electric version though. I wouldn't touch the new nitro version, I have an MGT, also, my experience with Kyoshos own engines are that they are a bit poo. I do like the look of the newer version though, even though it isn't an actual rerelease. The only kyosho I have ever owned was a Big Brute. I do have too many RCs right now though. Hmmmm
  5. Alas, here's a photo of my BL conversion. Sorry if it's a bit grainy, it's a screenshot from one of utoob vibs. Leopard 2000kv motor, hobbywing 6s esc, Lunsford Ti turnbuckles, FOC and single speed conversion. I can't remember the name of the firm that did the knuckles, but they were from the states and very well made. Proline Trenchers on the corners.
  6. I've got the front end done though, and am just waiting on a new upper front deck as the carbon one I had broke the last time I went out. What I did do whilst there was to refurb the driveshafts as they were quite tatty looking. As you can see, they are now a grey colour. I sprayed them in zinc galvanising spray.
  7. That's mental Redback, Nice amount of torque there. As previously mentioned. I'm just servicing mine. Stripped the diffs down to do oil, the large bevels were a little awkward to come off/out, but when they did, This was what remained of the pins:
  8. So this thread hasn't seen the light of day for a while. Does anyone still run their LSTs? I've done a BL conversion on mine and am currently servicing it. Needs a new shell too. Let's see some recent LSTs
  9. Well done on the conversion. I'm just giving my LST a full strip, clean and service after a very long time.
  10. Investigating possible causes of my race engine issues. I also make a discovery.
  11. Hey guys, here's a vid I made about my race day at SCRC. Not a lot a racing footage as it's difficult to film and drive, but see how my day went.
  12. I would like to add also, which I forgot to mention in my vids, is that although the engine is the stock .21, but wears a Thunder Tiger .28 head, I had to modify the head to fit, as the pcd of the mounting holes are larger on the .28.
  13. Continuing on frommy previous post, I finished running the engine in. Finished the shell, and the results are as follows:
  14. Hi guys I had a quick search but couldn't find an owners thread, so I created one, and now I've seen this one, which is well old. So thought I'd post here instead I've had my MGT since 2004, ragged it to death, raced it at Maxbashing. Then when the engine (yup, still original .21) got tired some years later, I converted it to brushless and 6s. It was undriveable. Then the 6s went up and took the shell and esc with it, and stained everything in a horrible smokeyness, including a patio slab. Then about 5 years ago I found a set of OE wheels and tyres for a bargain, and a piston/liner set, and that's where I got to.....UNTIL NOW. Exhaust found, put back on, engine warmed and fired up to run it in. 4 tanks later I have dug out a servo and ordered a body and paint, and a steering servo. New episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i8XwY0xFX4
  15. As above, take a look see and marvel at the workshop high jinx, thinly masquerading as a youtube video:
  16. Hi ya, thanks for the clarification. The Big Brute is from the late 80s, and was part of their car crusher line up, the most popular being the Double Dare and the Hi Rider Corvette. I thought being Japanese it would be a metric pitch but wasn't sure which as I knew it was neither 0.6 or 1.
  17. After looking a bit tired, the MB is finally finished to look how it was intended.
  18. Exactly as the title says. Can anybody tell me what the pinion pitch is on a vintage kyosho Big brute/big boss/hi ride corvette is please? I think it is 0.6, seeing as it's Japanese, but I'm not 100% sure. Ta muchly
  19. Just another one where I show you a gift from one of my subscribers. https://youtu.be/OhTrri3FkC4
  20. Hi Yes, the MGT and the MTA4 are the same, as Thunder Tiger actually own Associated Electrics. Welcome to bringing your MGT back to life. I did the same last year after messing around convering it to brushless. I can't resist a shameless plug for my videos either: You could try A Main in the states. I have bought a couple of bits from Asia Tees for my MGT too, this was only lsst year., and after the above video too. The parts are out there, you just gotta find them. Good luck.
  21. Hi guys Just bought a thing off ebay. It arrived, and I filmed it. To find out what I bought, wheather it be rough diamond or a lump of hard poo, click the link below. Enjoy. Also, please feel free to like, comment, share, and if you can, subscribe. It'd mean a lot. Happy viewing.
  22. Hi guys, broke out the old humbrols from years ago and decided to detail the guys in my Outlaw. Certainly adds a bit of life. What do you guys think?
  23. Top man. Ask, It's free 😀 I'm sure Neil will be able to give you an answer. Drop him an email.
  24. I know I've mentioned this before, but I see a few people mentioning the stock spur and pinon are a bit poo. It's true, they are, but I don't see anyone else using he RW Racing spur gear, and/or RW pinions. They're made here, in England, on the south coast, and Modelsport sell them. the pinions are hardened steel and machined , and the spur is a machined plastic too. I run a 7.5t motor in my 2nd Outlaw. Drivetrain hasn't missed a beat yet.
