  1. To me 14awg wire is a little thin. 12awg would be better. I made my own up: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25175__4mm_Gold_Connectors_Low_Profile_10pc_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9673__Turnigy_Pure_Silicone_Wire_12AWG_1mtr_RED.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9674__Turnigy_Pure_Silicone_Wire_12AWG_1mtr_BLACK.html
  2. 90 degree bullets should make those fit just fine. I have the exact same Nanotech 5000mah 35-70C lipos, and I made them fit by cutting the corner off the battery tray door.
  3. There is a for sale section on here.
  4. My current employment situation means I'm also free most Thursdays all day (usually). I was really looking forward to playing today as well, haven't had much of a chance to get the cars out recently, and it's always much more fun if there are a couple of you out. If the weathers good we can try again for next Thursday.
  5. The CR4T is a clone of the FlySky FS-IT4 which uses FlySky FS-IR4 receivers, plus the Carson Reflex 4 is also a clone so you can use their receivers too. Additionally, if you only need 3 channels and not the telemetry you can use the same FS-GR3 and compatible receivers that the FS-GT3B/C transmitters use, although you might need to enable the AFHDS option in the settings somewhere, so check you can do that first - it was added after a firmware update IIRC.
  6. Really sorry for not making it along, took longer to fix the car than anticipated.
  7. Sorry, have to go get some bits to fix my 1:1, probably looking closer to 1pm now.
  8. Might be a little late, but definitely coming. Probably safer to say it'll be closer to 12 for me.
  9. No problem, happy to help. You're right, we all start somewhere.
  10. The Flysky FS-GR3C, and Hobbyking GT-2 receivers will work, and can be had for around a fiver.
  11. Fingers crossed. Although my 1:1 car has begun playing up today, got a mate coming over to look at it some time tomorrow morning. Hoping he comes early, but even if I have to lug 1 RC down on my bike I'll do my best to be there.
  12. Just a FYI, but rechargeable AAs batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2v, but when fully charged they charge up to more like 1.4v. In just the same way that Lipos have a nominal 3.7v per cell, but charge up to 4.2v per cell. They will drop down to 1.2v reasonably quickly, but then hold it a lot better than normal AAs. I'd recommend any of the newer pre-charged AAs rechargeables (Eneloops being my preferred type), they hold their charge for a long time, and have excellent capacity.
  13. They're 5000mah, so they last a good while in the Summit, probably in the RS2 as well with it being 2WD. So, 11:30 then at the Spitfire. Fingers crossed the weather is good.
  14. I have about 6 2S lipos with EC5 that I use in my Summit. I can bring them all along no problem. That'd give me 2 runs on the Summit with spares for you to borrow.
  15. I should be good for 11am too, give me time to get a few errands done in the morning first. Whereabouts do you want to meet? I like the bit of grass next to the Spitfire, nice and open, got the banking by the path, and also next to the skate park which will probably be empty too. What connectors you using on the RS2? If it's EC5 or Traxxas I can bring some extra lipos along easily enough.
  16. What sort of time? I could well be able to pop along with something, probably the Summit and maybe the Slash too.
  17. Does that 'fin' actually make a real difference, or is it just marketing and confirmation bias?
  18. The maximum battery dimensions are listed in the manual on page 7.
  19. It's going to depend on the current system and the new system. If the current one is weak and the new one strong then you'll probably be fine. You're potentially increasing the motor speed by 40% though which is quite a big step up.
  20. However, higher kv motors tend to have less torque, so it's likely that the acceleration will be less, and it may not actually be able to reach full speed. It's a balancing act.
  21. Luckily I have a 24-105L, 70-300 Tamron, and 50mm II along with a couple very old EF lenses. Although I do now have a hankering for a nice ultra wide EF, maybe the 17-40L or even the 16-35L.
  22. No, sorry, the one that Shudson mentioned.
  23. Sorry, but just no. If you want a multimeter to test if your AA batteries are charged then it might be OK, but for anything else, NO. I wouldn't trust it to be in any way safe. The very idea that someone might use that on 500v AC or to test a 10amp current (it's not even got a fuse) makes me shudder.
  24. If all you want to do is check voltages and continuity then any
