  1. What pinion did you use? My nephew has one and he would like a bit more speed. The axles on his where bone dry too!
  2. Anyone got any pictures? Sounds like a great time was had by all.
  3. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick-mm-25-540-14t-motor-scout-rc-/rc-car-products/365501 http://www.hpiracing.co.uk/piw.php?partNo=MV25029 It is 14T = I had to replace the esc on my nephews and had to research so I could get a replacement (needed a waterproof one....!)
  4. Odd isn't it - When I play with my 1:1 Land Rovers - that is OK - When I run my SCX-10 that is a toy. Broken Shocks, busted springs, incorrect meshing of gears, body work torn, steering bent... Same things happen to both vehicles from doing pretty much the same things......
  5. I e-mailed him to see if he was going to create a set last night - e-mail from Colin this morning with a link to the set! Customer Service A+!! I have ordered bearings from him before, and they have always been top quality too. My SCX has had a set in for the best part of two years now, and they are not showing any signs of failure, and I have thrown everything at them. The two cars together..
  6. Just had an e-mail from RCBearings - They have now introduced a set of bearings for the Scout http://www.rcbearings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=scout&product_id=1189 Considerable saving on buying them individually, and a fantastic service! Thanks Colin,
  7. Thanks, I have dropped them a line as there are 28 bearings required in all.
  8. Looking at the manual I am concerned that the dimentions given are 15x10x4 and 5x10x4..... How can they be 5mm outer and 10mm inner??? Need to go back and measure them.
  9. Took Nephew and his scout and my SCX to the seaside. Dropped him off and left strict instructions - "CLEAN it THOROUGHLY..." 2 weeks later One salt and sand encrusted scout does not work... not suprising when the bearings on the wheels are frozen solid and every iron part has a layer of rust. Much abuse with solvents and lubricants later I have managed to rescue/replace everything except the bearings.... Has anyone found any sellers selling sets for the bearings? If not can anyone confirm that there are only 2 sizes of bearings used on the whole thing -- 15 x 10 x 4 and 5 x 10 x 4? thanks

  11. Speed = distance / time Easy way to do it is to measure between two points and then time how long it takes for the car to travel. Eg 100 meters in 10 seconds = 100/10 = 10Meters per second times by 60 = 600 meters per minute, times by 60 = 36000 meters per hour - or 36kph times by 0.622 to get MPH 22.3Mph it helps to have the car going at full speed at the start of the measured distance so you are not accelerating whilst being timed.
  12. That comment caused me to spray coffee all over my screen........
  13. +1 to this, I know Nick has put in a lot of time and effort to MSUK - Well Done Nick!
  14. Looks good - But I think you need to attach some bumpers, or the shell will get damaged (especially at the front)
  15. This was My first - and still going! http://youtu.be/3UJY-nWkRmo
  16. It is a waterproof as a paper bag! from personal experiance - do not let it within 5 feet of a damp leaf.........
  17. I have got a set of stonger springs, that I fitted and they have made a marked improvement - but I agree that a sway bar is going to be necessary - I have not seen one for this model, but I can fabricate one, and there are 2 points on the top of the wishboned that I can anchor it too, trying to anchor it to the chassis or the diff is going to be a bit more tricky.
