Nah it's still going just needed more power to help turn that big old truck, srt servo is fast and enough to turn the wheels but it's starting to struggle a bit so saved it from an early death and swapped it out 🙂.

Ahh, you had me worried for a moment there mate. Would you believe im happier now that it’s getting the use it deserved. Again, thank you. It was a absolute pleasure doing business :good:

Unseized 2 trucks ready for the scale nationals. Luckily my brother's knight runner wasn't too bad and all it happened to be was a bit of dried mud stuck in the motor, I did replace the motor though for a Holmes Hobbys Trailmaster sport as the stock one was having some sort of issue before anyway. My TRX4 was more problematic with a very seized motor and having to replace all the bearings in the axles and some in the transmission. I replaced the motor again with a Holmes Hobbys Trailmaster sport though a 550 sized one this time.

I shall have to keep an eye out for you mate, i have seen your Nissan truck there before and i bet we haven’t been a million miles away from each other at some point…..

im only going Sunday for a couple of hours, its my eldest daughter’s birthday Saturday so dont fancy missing out.

rc wise, i have foam lined a small ammo tin to house all the mini/micro lipos in, hopefully get out for a bit over the weekend with the Mini-t.

  2. Put me down for one, ooosh it does looks fabulous!!!

yeah the older ones were labelled as 1:36 scale but side by side i dont think there would be much in it i think…the newer micros are definitely longer wheelbase. That being said, i would love to have one of the original Micro-t’s in my collection……

a massive step up is better electrics with more choice should you wish to swap them out.

  3. Kays fasteners or Bolt base on eBay are my go to but again i usually buy 50 of the same at a time, then top up as required.

this is the thing for me though, softer materials could well create grief down the line trying to put a cut in the bolt head with the dremel etc. that can be a absolute nightmare of a job on any rc or application.

good quality hardware and tools will make a difference :good:

  4. I’ve been saying that for years mate.

over the years we (me, the lad and daughter all have 1) have only gone through 3 stock steering servo’s, 1 stock motor, stock front bumper mount and 2 mirrors.  Which is incredible considering how much hammer they have taken over the years.

between the Trx4 and the Trx4m, Traxxas made a big step forward in the crawling world whatever the haters say.

i actually charged a lipo and sat messing about on the patio for a hour with the little Losi mini-t, throughly enjoyed it too!! :topbanana:

  5. I believe Tamiya do the Mini again??

but there are some different chassis to look at, most of the “M” chassis labelled are the Mini scale and will work. The old M03 chassis was epic though, made for some proper fun and cheap racing :good:

here you go,  and before somebody screams its the wrong wheel base, i am aware.  These as far as i am aware can be built up to accept the Tamiya Mini shell, using differing parts in the kits or available separately.

These will  need some wheels/tyres and body shell.

These are all Mini sized and will take a Tamiya shell. :good:

Here are all the “M” chassis type cars,

Finally whilst your putting a basket together get a set of rubber shielded bearings from Rcbearings on eBay or they have there own site and a bit cheaper.

as regards to the electrics, inc batteries, chargers, radio gear, servo’s, motors and esc’s. I would say buy the best you can afford, some stuff is cheap for a good reason.

its a load to go through mate, but when your both out together and laughing and being happy, thats worth more than the money it costs…… imo

    cheers, Gaz.

  6. Welcome to the forum buddy, I'm sure we can help, theres a vast wealth of knowledge on here :good:

i would start doing a little list of all the rc that catch your eye, post up the links to them and we can then go from there.

its easy to spend money on something thats crap and puts you off the hobby, we dont want that, we want your and your lad to enjoy the hobby together, myself and my lad both do “rc” he has grown up with it and is now very knowledgeable to the point he is on a auto mechanic course at college.

please feel free to ask away!!

    Gaz.
