Looking at that mate, look at the top shock mounts and you will see the stock mounts are much taller, so for the desired effect move the top of the shocks to holes going furthest away from where you are now, this should give a better overall stance.

my lad has the same chassis with the 58mm yeah racing shocks and his needed playing with the top mounts until he was happy…

@Lone-wolf, your F150 looks great!! The one pre-load spacer could be for torque twist although i cannot recall just one fitted on any of ours, if you need any, give me a shout, i have loads. Interested in the free mods you’re doing too. :good:

@Gaz!, you should of got an FMS Chevy lol................

Please can you tell me where you got the side decals for the body they look pretty darn good, but traxxas get a bad mark for the lop sided F O R D sticker on the front of the hood....oops bonnet, if mine is like that it will rattle my OCD

The actual Fall guy decals were from screen print digital on eBay and they also supplied a a4 sheet of gold vinyl. The quality of it is superb!! Makes fitting it a enjoyable experience.

Yeah it is quite disappointing at that price, i wonder if something a little better will pop up, i get you on the ocd, at the moment whilst clean and unused it doesn’t stand out but i cant stand the big edge all the way round the decal, separate letters would have been a nice addition to match the rest of the chrome.

As for the Fms Chevy, well i could do another film replica and the shorter body would be the one that would work best for it, still very much a pipe dream, i still have a couple of famous film cars i would like to “rc” but its finding compatible rc stuff and its now a lot to spend to be wrong and it not to work. The “fall guy” truck is a nice easy truck to do lol. :good:

  3. With the front overdrive and the rear underdrive fitted, the turning circle will be improved and also the front axle almost drags the rear axle along, perfect when on a ascent as it adds stability keeping the rear tyres planted.

not tried it myself on the Trx4m’s but we have used them on the 1/10th scale trucks (Axial and Traxxas) with good results.

just to note though, if your running on a concrete/stone/tarmac ground, it will scrub the rear tyres over time. :good:

  4. Not tried those “speed tips” for the drill but i have tried and use their manual drivers, especially on the small stuff and there is a noticeable difference in feel.

my old 1.5mm Arrowmax driver with a new Eds tip didn’t seem to fit 100%  because of a little slop.

they are expensive for old fashioned looking screwdrivers but they do work!

dont know how much your current tip cost and the price of a new one, added up and you wouldn’t be too far off the Mip price, just saying….

    hope that helps :good:

    OUCH !!

Pricing up hop ups, or should i say possibly needed upgrades this project is really getting expensive for a 1/18th........metal underdrive transmission gears, metal axle ring and pinion set and a set of metal links to add a little low weight plus maybe an Injora 180 motor with the hi trail F-150 we are at about £252 then i would like a light kit.

kinda feel im pricing this up and getting reluctant to lob this kind of money into this project.........if i am gonna go ahead might have to drop the motor and metal links from the list

If your willing to search eBay and prepared to wait for delivery, that price can be reduced, plus the Traxxas stuff you will replace will still have value to sell on helping to fund it further.

yes Traxxas upgrades are a bit ridiculous price wise but you will always find a plethora of third party companies making stuff, might not have the fit and finish but does that really matter??? Will still do the job whilst looking the part.

look at the Carisma Sca1e upgrades, they make Traxxas look reasonable…..

anyhow, ooops, my finger slipped, honest :topbanana:

  6. I’m long out of the 1/10 scale stuff now.

cant comment on the Injora 1.9” tyres but the 1.0” micro tyres are good if you can get them seated properly.

i know you dont want to spend that kind of money but….the Pit bull 1.9” Rock Beast xl tyres ive had for a fair time on the trx4 and they have always been nothing short of epic!!

wet or dry conditions, they just bite in and carry on…..

  7. Hi,

decided to sell my “back up” charger as to be honest, ive never had the need to use it.

i am scaling down the amount of rc and stuff i have, i cant see me using loads of it so someone else might as well have some use from it..

its in perfect working order apart from the damage to the windows of 2 of the displays as pictured, doesnt affect the operation and also doesnt affect the view on the screen.

this is how i bought it with no other charge cables although i might be able to throw in some 4mm bullets and cable to make up some charge leads if the asking price is met. It is quite large and heavy so will cost approx £10 for a signed for delivery.

looking for £40 posted and inc. PayPal fees.

  8. We can get a hour or so out of the stock lipo, but thats including pauses etc.

not sure if you can buy a “adapter” of sorts to match the Traxxas connectors (something the pees me off about Traxxas….)

other lipos fit, we have some 1000mah lipos but we have replaced the esc/receiver to run our own set up. Injora do a lead from their esc to a Traxxas lipo so maybe they will do the leads??

I've crashed my tarantula Trx4m quite hard on my crawler course a good few times and nothing has broken and it's all stone pretty much, unforgiving landings (probably going to break next crash now I've posted this).

They are a tough little truck. I've been pleasantly surprised how long the plastic gears lasted. I left the rear in my bronco just out of curiosity.

I way prefer working on Trx4m's than fcx24 and scx24. Most of the bolts are 1.5mm driver, not tiny screws.

Just my opinion, but definitely my favourite mini crawler.

100% with you here mate :good:

  10. I actually really like the look of this, wheels look tucked enough so as not to look like a monster truck, bit of something different body wise too which can only be a good thing.

it wont be gracing my shelves though for numerous reasons.

  11. Perfect, thank you for that mate, definitely another one to look at for me now then, always good to have a couple of solid choices.

I’ve also found the throttle curve on the Hobbywing esc’s a bit “lumpy” too at low down speeds.

  12. Hmmm, between this and the new rustler 4x4, i wonder if its possible to freshen up my old Stampede 4x4 to a bit of a truggy look??

on the exploded shots, it looks like the front and rear end of a lcg Slash 4x4, anyone else thinking that??
