Just ordered a zx6.6 for £220 from Modelsport. Great price for a car that cost over £400 not long ago. I assume in clearance as it may be replaced soon, but still doesn't detract from that price.
-
Bought two preprinted touring car shells, one Tamiya and the other a killer body that cost about half the price. Both Lancer X’s. Honestly think the killer body is better in looks and seems to be a thicker plastic.

Just a little bit of grass from today's run ?

How does wheel offset get calculated? If I get a pair of wheels with a 3mm offset for my TC is that +3mm on each wheel for a 6mm total, or 1.5mm each side for a total of 3mm?

Waterproofing my TT02 rally car apparently wasn't necessary, this dry spell has been crazy.

Can anyone recommend a complete FPV setup that may suit a car rather than a plane\quad?

Who should cover paypal fees? Should the buyer add the cost to the payment or should the seller take the hit? Never used paypal outside of Ebay.

Paypal fees are like 5% so as its the sellers payment terms, they should be covered by seller.
P.s the reason you can't usually pay by bank transfer as its not as safe as PayPal.
Theres been many variated scams involving bank transfers, most usually involve the seller taking payment for goods and never sending them, or a buyer asking to pay by bank transfer and claiming the never received goods.
Those in doubt google if you're protected by paying by bank transfer
Paypal is the best option at present
-
Yeah its paypal or cash on collection with me. I dont like to hear fees on top. But i pay them once asked but would rather ignor that factor of a price lol.
Totally agree on the buyer paying to buy from paypal extra protection. And paypal always comes good even 12wks later lol. Damn wardrobe.
So its just one of them.

How reliable is Wheelspin models' shadow stock?

Nitro engine backplate stuck on a 35 year old engine. Anyone got any tips?

Nothing too exciting I'm afraid. This is the only picture I have of it, an OS max 25 fsr I think, just like the one in this article. You can see the flywheel pull start system pointing towards the sky because the motor mounts rotated backwards. Even has a ducted cooling fan inside that once clear piece of plastic

I ordered from RCjaz the other day. Had an email today saying the item has since sold out, and I can either "Have other items for replacement" or "Receive a voucher code storing the identical value". Nothing about getting a refund however, which I'd much prefer. Does anyone know if I went for the voucher if I'd get the postage cost back also?

Is there any touring car tyres aimed at astroturf tracks? Kinda like rally blocks but they're too chunky.

Are these the kind of ones you're looking for? https://www.rccarshop.co.uk/wheels-tyres/1-10th-on-road-wheels/race/u6624-sst-mini-pins-24-25-yellow-pr-p

Looks like I've ordered off one of those "UK based" eBay sellers who actually ship from China and fail to mention that in the listing. I don't see how that can't be classed as a scam. I wanted to support a UK seller, not a Chinese company pretending to be from Sheffield.

A lot of Chinese sellers are setting up stock hubs over here in UK.
They carry 50% of the stock they have back in China, usually the most popular selling items, that way thee can dispatched them to you quicker but avoid paying the tax on the sale, keeping costs down.
Its lose lose for UK ditributors

New paddle shifters and wheel arrived for the sim rig. This was supposed to be a cheaper alternative to my RC racing

What are IT services worth? Removing viruses, installing software and things like that. I work a job in IT as an onsite networking engineer. Now everyone I know seems to expect IT services off me free of charge in my own time just because I know how. Starting to really bug me now. A few favors for family and friends I don't mind, but this is like having a second, unpaid job I didn't want or ask for.
-
Depends on the job, easy work about £25/hr, harder stuff like hardware installation etc... Up to £50/hr.
Or you can have set fees for stuff, such as a fresh Windows install for say £30, because it takes a while but it's not really a hard job, just a bit tedious.
Few beer tokens in your back burner though for the odd job of an evening

I gave up and just told people I don't do private work. After you've cleared the virus and spyware of the same machine for the fifth time and they still won't monitor the kids on the dodgy sites it's not even worth the money from those who do pay.
Also if you build a computer for anyone or upgrade one they will expect you to provide free lifetime support for it...
I know of a local company they does home call out, doesn't charge the earth and actually sorts stuff, so I direct people who ask to them.

Anyone know where I could buy a maverick atom? I know it's a long shot but it was the first car I ever had and I kinda miss it now.

Trying to build an Orlandoo Jeep kit. This is the opposite of a relaxing build experience.

Cant believe I've been on the forum 8 years now, didn't realise I had been RC'ing for that long

Guys theoretically speaking, where would someone need to go in order to get permission to launch a weather balloon carrying an FPV vehicle of some sort?
-
I'd probably start with the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) https://www.caa.co.uk/home/

Your going to need a high gain setup to achieve the range you need, and chase car, harder than it sounds if your in UK.
Good luck!!

This plane is for sale locally at £65. I know it's a de Havilland Puss Moth but not sure if this scratch built or a kit available to buy. Anyone know?
