    Am I the only one to notice the second picture states it's 1400, yet the picture is showing a 1600? If you can get that style hump pack, but their are some that have 2 wires coming out, one wire has a red 2 pin connector and one has a black 3 pin connector. Anyone who owns a losi will know you that some losi switches have either the black or red connector in the battery box.

    How much fuel did you run through it before you changed the liner & piston? Did you change the conrod & gudgeon pin set, When you put the liner & piston in? Breaking in your engine will put a lot of strain on your conrod so be careful you don't shear it off, I've always pre-heated engines to 180f and let it idle through 4-6 tanks then race and tune it.

    It will work out cheaper to buy a 2nd hand hyper engine on ebay and use it for spares than buying a new carb mate.

    Since fitting ceramic bearings to my Alpha S852, I'm getting temps of 280-295f and have had no problems. I find the hotter it gets the better it runs. Though I have heard and seen people running their Alphas at 300f with no problems. Some engines like it and some don't...

    I have one of these still in a box and only having done one tank from new, Does yours have a plastic head on it as I was going to pre-heat mine due to the pinch, But was afraid I'd melt the head.

    Very nice looking and a lot of work put into it, I did encounter one problem on mine which was the center diff holder. I replaced mine with a holder from a 8B 1.0 and put in an alloy bearing instead of the plastic one you get. It just stops play in the diff and wear as well.

    kV refers to R.P.M./Volt Its how motors are rated. Does not mean KiloVolts as in electrical terms. The higher the kV rating the faster the R.P.M of the motor.     The roller button goes wrong due to heavy handed misuse, The button next to the roller is for the R.O.S.S. System on a Losi Ten-T. So it won't work unless you have ross system active.

    Here's mine on the back of a shelf queen as that's all it's good for. It creates no back pressure for your engine and will screw your tuning up in a short time. I would say avoid, but you've got it now. Hope it works for you mate. I just cable tied it to the rear bumper.

    I think the DX3S is a great all rounder, very simple to set up. The speed sensor was a doddle to set up and I'm +/- 1mph at the moment.... Touch wood The temp sensor was simple but mine melted after giving me a reading of 278f, When I stuck a temp gun on the engine it was reading 270f. only 8 degrees out. All in all, one of the cheapest tx/rx combos I've brought.
