Could be either I guess. If you have a circuit tester you could check the charger

I'm a bit confused. What happened when you lost control? Did the failsafe apply the brakes? How did that break the steering servo? Or is that unrelated? Maybe the failsafe isn't set up properly? Can you disable it? Try new batteries again. I've had new batts that were knackered before or upgrade to a 6v stick pack it will save you
