  1. righto, thanks guys, much appreciate your help. did a bit of vacuum forming at school - hopefully Uni have one to use.
  2. hi everyone, im currently part of a team manufacturing from scratch a rocket car which will be roughly 450mm long, and have a weight limit of 500g minimum. as part of the aerodynamics we are having fairings / a bodyshell to cover the wheels etc.. having thought about carbon fibre and fibreglass, im just wondering whether i could make a bodyshell using lexan like an rc car shell. it would be lightweight and as its not structural it can be flexy to absorb any potential impacts with a fence or somebodys foot! has anybody made a bodyshell before? im looking at this lexan : http://www.jemodels.com/nitro-models?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=7066&category_id=222 or can i get some from somewhere else in a greater quantity (ebay).? any help appreciated. thanks
  3. as above really, want to replace a couple of tips just wondering if the HUDY ones will work with the fastrax team tools thanks
  4. if you now have a gap in the carb of around 1.5mm on idle, and its still stalling - its either got a dragging clutch, too rich on the low speed needle, or a dud glow plug. my guess would be a dragging clutch -do the wheels spin on idle if you lift the car off the ground? - if so its the clutch
  5. yay or nay? i beleive its similar / same as acetone but want to make sure! thanks
  6. threadlock should be used on the engine mount screws, and only a small amount on the clutch bell - if it gets stuck you will be in trouble!
  7. the best sealant for nitro engines is the black RTV sealant, can get it from machine mart. works a treat. i was told to use it when i had a similar issue and its the best stuff http://www.machinema...tails/051110157
  8. sorry have been busy and havnt had chance to reply till now, still for sale if interested
