Ordered one of these from Modelsport this morning, threw some RPM A-Arms in the basket as well. Will replace the arms when they break. Already looking at a new combo and servo for it. Will run it stock for a while. Will be going up against my sons Granite and Vorteks that they got for christmas. Maybe I'll have it in my hands tomorrow? Apart from doing the ESC brake trick, anything else I should look out for?

Afternoon ladies and gents. Got my son a Granite for christmas. 10mins into the first run, one of the tyres has failed. Needless to say the poor lad was upset and so was I to be honest, I wanted a go! Was running on the field outside our house. Did all the checks that you do with a new Rc, all seemed fine to me. He was just running up and down the field then we saw something flying in the air. We did look around to see if there was anything in the grass that he could have hit but saw nothing. If the tyres were ballooning excessively I would understand but that wasn't the case. Anybody else seen tyre failure like this on what is pretty much a brand new truck? Edit: Got image working.

The ESC will be fine with the 35T motor you have there.

If it's part support you need Traxxas is currently the best, plenty 3rd party parts out there as well. HPI are terrible for parts right now. I don't know if Arrma support has improved, maybe some owners will chime in?

Welcome to the forum and back to the hobby For your budget I would be looking to spend it on an Arrma. For LiPo's I would suggest taking a look at Hobbyking. Decent LiPo's for the price. Great first post btw, easy to read and to the point

The car will probably be fine on NiMh tbh. If your wife can refrain from launching it 10ft in the air Put the money towards another battery.

Edit: LiPo will give longer run times and cost around the same as a new motor. Edit again: But will will stress components more.... I've been no help

What Rc is it? Running LiPo or NiMH?

Well it seems my throttle linkage is just to feeble. I need turnbuckles with ball cups and thicker rods. Got some shopping to do!
